These Pikmin are used shortly after to collect some [[Sparklium Seed]]s that are out of reach. Eventually, Olimar finishes exploring this starting area, and leaves the Pikmin he found behind. The adventure proper then starts, with the area [[First Expedition]], where he once again meets the Red Pikmin, again, hiding behind a bush.
