• I feel like that people aren't going to remember how many days they completed Pikmin in their first run... Maybe a better poll would be asking about the fewest days that they completed Pikmin in? IMO, a low-day run makes more of an impact than their first run. ~PikFan23 20:07, 18 July 2015 (EDT)
  • I don't know... Casual players (I assume the vast majority) won't really care for low-day runs. I've played through Pikmin several times, but I still remember my first time: 23 days.     • Hmm... Yeah, most probably won't be going for a low-day run. Looking at the stats for Pikmin 3, not a whole lot of people got all fruit, and even then, those who did took like 40-50 days. • Well, you've got basically until E3, at the latest, if my memory that "the game is basically ready" or something along those lines is true. We might see a Nintendo Direct and see it earlier, or they might pull a Detective Pikachu and announce it out of the blue. Depending on how long polls last, I don't see this one surviving long. • Im pretty confident that Pikmin 4 will be announced before this poll goes up, but if it doesn't, I think the chance to have it as a poll would still be good. • Even if Nintendo reveals the console during the poll's lifespan, I don't think that invalidates the poll. For starters, I think this is something fans really want to be vocal about. If in the end, one week after the poll is up, Nintendo reveals that the next game's platform will actually be mobile devices (knock on wood), the question still stands: "what platform would you LIKE it to be on?" — {Espyo^T} 07:27, 30 January 2017 (EST)

1. Not many fans will know about the unused features. Of course, this can help bring attention to them, but the fans's feelings will still be limited regardless. Then, there's the fact that we still don't know much about the unused content and mechanics. There's still a lot left to discover right now, and even the contents in this list aren't entirely known. The "false" Candypop Bud might just be how the Candypop Bud works internally, if it is not set up properly, as opposed to being a new object that was meant to kill your Pikmin. The Bubble Blowhog could just be a new version of the plain old Watery Blowhog. The poison geyser is already an old thing, so I can't see how that one would be exciting whatsoever. I'm just not feeling this poll at all. Maybe one day in the distant future, when unused P3 content is much better understood, and more popular. — {Espyo^T} 07:38, 30 January 2017 (EST)

• I like this idea. This is the first time (as I know of) that the poll has been based off the wiki, and not the games, which does add more variety. It may even help us make better April Fool's jokes by reflecting back on old ones. My only opposition is I think only editors and frequent readers of the wiki (which is pretty hard to measure) will probably vote or understand what it even is. However, it might encourage readers to actually read April Fool's articles, and then they might vote. Still, I'm not sure if readers will care enough to read all the articles at once just to vote.     • We know from some places that Miyamoto has said the game is coming. But then nothing ever happened. A lot of fans are upset about this, and we'd just be reminding them. Plus, giving them a way in which to passive-aggressively point out Miyamoto lied, and how he lied, isn't exactly the healthiest thing we could do in this community. • Perhaps this question could be reworked, so instead of being "What Pikmin 1/2 area would you most like to see remastered using Pikmin 3's engine?", it could be "What area would you most like to see brought back and updated in a future Pikmin game?". That way it wouldn't be so unrealistic, and could also cover Pikmin 3 areas. Though, the resulting poll would have a lot of options. So far, all of the main series Pikmin games have been re-released on a later console. How do you feel about this?

• I think the re-releases are great and that Pikmin games should be re-released on more consoles.
• I think the re-releases that already exist are good and there doesn't need to be more of them.

  • In the Pikcord, I've seen a few people against the idea of Purple and White Pikmin returning. (I'd probably vote for that option, or the redesign option.) There are a bunch of enemies in the Pikmin series that are often considered annoying by players, and it could be interesting to have a poll on which one people find the most annoying. The options I picked are enemies commonly noted as particularly annoying. 1. I think a question like this is too vague for a simple poll. To one person, enemy A may not be a nuisance, but to another, enemy A may be a nuisance. Then, some enemies are annoying for different reasons; the Sheargrubs are annoying because they stop you from carrying back fruit, and the Flighty Joustmites are annoying because they are ~awkward to defeat(?), so it's hard to compare them fully and fairly. Then there's the issue of what enemies would be here? There's a lot of enemies that could be counted as annoying (not including bosses).   • It's definitely not bad; most of these enemies can be pretty irritating. I do think the Dessicated Skitter Leaf is only a big pain in deathless runs, but its camouflage definitely justifies it here regardless of the playthrough type. Why is the Flighty Joustmite on here, though? I've heard maybe one or two content creators voice their distaste for it, but to me it's literally just a Joustmite with wings, but arguably easier due to its incapacitation when its proboscis gets stuck in the ground; wait for that to happen and throw some Pikmin at its backside, the end. That placement makes very little sense to me.
    On the topic of adding more, do you think it'd be fair to add the Mysterious Life Form? The fact that it gives chase can make it kind of pesky (though I suppose it's possible any annoyance it might bring is overshadowed by the terror it can cause). How about Phosbat Pods? I don't personally have any issues with them, but maybe their repetitive enemy spawning might be thought of that way... eh, on second thought, probably not. I'd say the Puffy Blowhog can be kind of irritating, but it's not nearly as bad as it is in the first game, so I don't think it needs to be on there. The last two I might think about considering are the Swooping Snitchbug (though, like the Puffy Blowhog, it's much worse in 1 due to its ability to wander) and the Waddlepus, as they both can disjoint your squad a bit, but otherwise, I think the list is fine. • I think this poll runs into the issue of too many possible options, as in my opinion as Pikmin 3's enemy cast is filled with annoying foes. From ones that are hard to hit, to ones with utterly unfairly fast shake-offs, there's a lot to go around. Some ones that I'd nominate are the Waddlepus, Puffy Blowhog, Water Dumple, Medusal Slurker, and Toady Bloyster, and if all those are included, the number of options inflates drastically. There's also the issue of this being a very subjective topic; one that I don't think really works with Pikipedia's poll format. -Gulliblepikmin 19:28, October 5, 2024 (EDT)

Asking any multiple choice question with blowhogs (family) is a bad idea, becuce there's some types that does/doesn't count for various Reasons, like the Blowhog (species) only being in Pikmin adventure and not blowing something, the Telescoping Pumphog not having "blowhog" in their name, and the Tusked Blowhog not being in the Blowhog family. 2. I’ve had to switch to the opposition. Pikmin 4 introduced about a bajillion Blowhog varieties, ruining this poll. • Other treasure series could work, though ones with a lot of entries and ones that appear in both Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 4 should be avoided: so the Sweet Tooth Series would be difficult, as it's present in both games; the Soulful Musician Series would be too long (13 unique treasures). All of the Pikmin 2 treasures that have regional differences will be awkward to implement as well. The more "bundle-like" treasure series aren't the best for this either, like the Memory Fragment Series, Three Generations Series, Assembled Courage Series etc. — Chazmatron, signing off! • I like the idea of polls about favorite treasures in series, but I don't think this is a good series for this type of poll. This is because all of its treasures are also fruits in Pikmin 3, so someone could answer based on how the treasures appear in Pikmin 3 as well as in Pikmin 4. 2. I think this is a good question to gauge the current popularity of this mode, and it's pretty relevant too. I don't know if a "maybe" option would be a good idea, though, because it's kind of too general and takes away from the statistic of how many people care about playing this mode, at least in my opinion. Besides, it asks "do you plan to", so someone could easily say yes and then change their mind and not actually play it, or vice versa. Perhaps it could be replaced with an "I don't have Pikmin 4 but I want to do x", so that way people who don't can vote, but I don't know if we often have options for not having the game for other polls.
