The '''Main Engine'''　({{j|メインエンジン|Mein Enjin|Main Engine}}) is a [[ship part]] of the [[S.S. Dolphin]] and, in {{p3d}}, the [[Hocotate ship]]. It is the only one found on the first day in ''[[Pikmin (game)|Pikmin]]''. With it, [[Captain Olimar]] is able to lift off from the [[The Impact Site|crash site]] to escape the planet's nocturnal [[Enemy|beasts]]. When the Main Engine is restored to the S.S. Dolphin, the ship flips upright, and the part is then installed on its bottom. Olimar is then able to continue on to [[The Forest of Hope]] to find more of his thirty lost ship parts. In {{p2}}, the [[Dream Den]] replaces this part's location.

Dolphin|Dolphin's]] Main Engine is the first part you can find in Pikmin, it was needed to help [[Captain Olimar]] at least lift off of the [[The Impact Site|crash site]] where his ship fell. He was very lucky to find this piece first. He was able to transport this part with the help of his [[Red Pikmin|Pikmin]] he discovered first on the planet. After he found this part, he was able to go to [[The Forest of Hope]] and start his search for the remaining 29 parts.

On the first day you go through the main tutorial about the pikmin. Once you get the first pikmin start collecting all the pellets including the ones on the 2 small stumps. Once you have 14 pikmin, command them to move the box. Once the box is out of the way you find the engine. Dont think about grabbing it yet. Head up the rocks where the box made a ramp and get all of those pellets untill you have 25. Now you can pick up the most important part of the [[S.S. Dolphin]].
