The | The Firesnout Beetle (ヒフキドックリ) is an enemy in hp. It is a crimson beetle-like creature that breathes fire from the walls it sits in. It has tiny legs, red eyes, and black spots around its darker colored exoskeleton. It is slightly shorter than Captain Olimar, being the smallest member of the lithopod family. It appears in only one area, Sizzling Precipice.

This creature's name differs from the Armored Cannon Beetle Larva's with the word "Firesnout", which refers to its fire-shooting ability and, like other lithopods, its snout, from which the fire comes from. For reasons unknown, the word "Larva" is absent from its name when compared to the Armored Cannon Beetle Larva, despite it being a cannon beetle larva as well. Its Japanese name is with "Tokkuri" being the Japanese name for most lithopods (referring to the part of the Sake set) and Fire Breathing is obviously chosen.
Its scientific name, Granignis ictum is composed of Granignis. It is not a real word, but itself is composed of Granitus, the genus for the armored cannon beetle, and ignis, which is Latin for fire.
