The '''Centipare''' ({{j|ムカデトンボ|Mukade Tonbo|Centipede Dragonfly}}) is a docile [[enemy]] in {{hp}} that resembles a dragonfly. Centipares have skinny pink bodies with light-blue eyes, and their length is about four times that of [[Captain Olimar]]. They float through the air in a fixed pattern, and Olimar and [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] can land on top of one to ride on its back. By staying on one for a while, the player can cover new ground. Despite the name, they are technically not at all related to Adult Centipares, as indicated by their different family, genus, and species. However, this is likely a [[mistake]], as Centipares are directly said by Olimar to be children in their log, lining up with Adult Centipares being the adult forms.

|common    = Centipare. It is just a slight alteration of centipede, the insect it is clearly based on.

|scientific = ''Chilopoda sakuranii''. {{w|Chilopoda}} is a real world class that contains centipedes. ''Sakuranii'' is derived from "sakura", Japanese for cherry blossom, and a reference to the creature's pink color.
