Are the names of the Winged Pikmin official? -Los Plagas (talk)

Yes; they were confirmed and officially introduced by Satoru Iwata himself on the Nintendo Direct of 4-17-13. ~PikFan23

Abilities

During the segment of the 4.17.2013 Nintendo Direct with the Wollywog and Winged Pikmin, it seemed that the Wollywog wasn't able to crush them, but simply knocked them onto the ground, as no spirit was shown and the Pikmin were just laying around the Wollywog. Did anyone else notice this/think this is noteworthy? --FREAK ~GameGame Freak Logo.png Freak~OUT!

It might be worth adding on to the trivia, but you might want to wait. It's possible that that was just a programming glitch, since there is no real way to explain that happening, though it might be possible, considering this is a video game. I'd say, add it on to trivia and include the fact that it might be a programming glitch. -Los Plagas (talk)

I noticed this as well. In response to what Los Plagas said, perhaps that may be so. Yet, I was thinking it has to do with their flying capabilities; it may make them harder to squish. ...Of course, this is mere speculation, so we won't know for sure until Pikmin 3 is released.
Another thing: the Wollywog seemed to inflate when it leapt into the air, and it's possible its inflation could have something to do with the Pikmin not being squished. ~PikFan23
Yeah, I watched the video closely, and you're right. PikFan, though (I think) this is the first time we've seen Pikmin 3 Wollywogs, I doubt they'd make it so they don't kill Pikmin any more. Anyway, everything we see is obviously subject to change, and we only see it happen once, but maybe it is worth noting - wording it carefully, of course.
While watching the video again I also noticed that the cursor shows how many Pikmin are under your control. You see the number decrease by 4 when the Wollywog gets them. Just before the scene changes, one of them gets up, and I think it starts moving towards the Wollywog (yay, frame advance). GP 05:20, 25 April 2013 (EDT)
No, what I meant was that their ability to fly would make it harder for the Wollywog to kill them - the Wollywog still having potential to kill them, of course. I agree with all your points, though. ~PikFan23
Hmm, okay. So yeah, we can't say it's fact, because this might just have been a fluke. GP 05:11, 26 April 2013 (EDT)

Whistling

An anon added some information about the Winged Pikmin being harder to whistle. Has anyone confirmed it? I just want to make sure before I revert it, especially if it's correct. -Los Plagas (talk)

I didn't find anything that would confirm it, so I removed it for now.--Prezintenden
Seems like it'd be based on speculation from the get-go. If they truly are harder to command, someone'll quickly add that info when the game comes out, no worries about that. — {EspyoT} 08:15, 27 April 2013 (EDT)
