Needs merge with 9-day run.GP 11:49, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Happy?--Prezintenden

Could someone actually move this to 9-day run for proper capitalization? For some reason it doesn't want to let me move it over the redirect and it's specifically telling me not to copy and paste the contents to preserve the page history. —Jimbo Jambo

Ya, you require deletion rights in order to use the function.--Prezintenden
Well, usually I can move pages over redirects, the only other time I couldn't being with the Dwarf Bulborbs page...then again, maybe I'm thinking of another wiki. I don't have rights there, but maybe the required rights are different er something. Anyway, thanks. —Jimbo Jambo

8-day run

[1]

Apparently going to DS on day 4 means there are no Snitchbugs, plus OoB glitches letting you save time by getting 2 parts quicker, means you can do DS in one day and have an 8-day Pikmin 1 run. So what we need to do is:

  • move this to "8-day run (Pikmin 1)".
  • move "8-day run" to "8-day run (Pikmin 2)".
  • update this page; I'd want to wait for confirmation that the other days stay in the same order since I'm not too familiar with the first game, but if anyone else is more confident, go ahead.
  • create a page for the Spotty Bulbear glitch used.
  • link to the glitch page on UV Lamp and Chronos Reactor and note they're possible without yellows.
  • use the glitch to test the first of the gate glitches (I'm doing this now; need to start from the start, though...).
  • note on DS it can be done in one day? Under trivia or something - but then, I guess we don't do the same on WW. Should we?

Gogogo?

Also, this should get a load of you in the IRC channel. ...Right? GP

No, no. You want to rename this to 8-day run? Calm down! We don't know for sure yet if the game can be completed in 8 days. I really want to see it, and I want to believe it's possible, but as for now, it's too soon. Even if it can be done, it's still too soon to change the name. But once more info is set, that group of changes you suggested really should be made. {EspyoT} 09:13, 8 April 2011 (EDT)
Yeah, that's why I said I want to wait for confirmation or someone more confident. I'm pretty sure it's legitimate, though. GP

I may be butting into this conversation, but the picture on the forum is not big evidence, its incredible what can be done by just one person and Photoshop. Loafy the Breadbug

Well, I'm pretty trusting of people at SDA, and the glitch videos are a bit of evidence for it, and if someone can get to DS by day 4 (requires an extra part on day 2 or 3, probably 2 would be best to leave lots of time on 3 for enough blues to finish DS in one day; I'm pretty sure that's doable 'cause yesterday, having only played through the game once before, a long time ago, I got all but 2 of the parts you'd need on day 2 on the first try without looking anything up, and got the others well before midday the next day) to check if there really are no Snitchbugs, that would help. Plus, (s)he said he was working on a video.
Besides, glitch stuff is undisputable and can be done before further confirmation. GP

Well, a video's up: http://www.youtube.com/user/TRR010 GP 17:17, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

Awesome! Well, the rest of the run (at the time of writing) is basically the same, so it's basically confirmed that an 8-day run is possible. Alright, let's do this. {EspyoT} 18:23, 24 July 2011 (EDT)

This was never moved to 8-day run. Can someone move this and I edit the rest. --189.215.156.45 20:11, 13 September 2011 (EDT)

Done. GP 03:54, 14 September 2011 (EDT)

Editing from 9-days to 8-days is done. BTW, that anonymous poster was me. --Upgrader 18:18, 15 September 2011 (EDT)

Nice, thanks. We probably need a page for that OoB glitch, and then we can link to it. In fact, it'd probably make more sense to have an 'Out-of-bounds glitches' page for all glitches that get a captain OoB in both games. There are ones in DS, IS, WW, AW, probably more I don't know about. GP 04:51, 16 September 2011 (EDT)
