Quattrius infectum, this is not the real scientific name given by humans.
The Clover, as you know obviously, is a green cluster of plants that are small, and usually have clusters of three leaves, which on rare occaisions, are known to produce four. There are also rotting or dying forms seen of this plant. This, as a plant, would not be useful at all, but since this is a nitrogen enriched plant, and nitrogen would likely be needed to benefit the creatures' development in the Pikmin's world so the food chain could follow in a correct order, techinically, it is useful. Don't be confused with this for the Science Project, a treasure that is actually a four leaf clover!

This is a naturized species. These plants are extremely persistent, and with the assistance of a symbiotic fungus that grows on it's roots, the species is able to survive even in drought condidtions. Typically, its leaves come in groupings of three, but intense impacton the leafing stem early in the development cycle can result in an extremely rare four-leaf cluster.
