The following are approved polls that aren't used yet, but will be one day. Until then, they sit here. The process behind what polls get decided is detailed in the policy page. Please do not edit or vote on these polls, since they have already been approved. You may comment on them, though.

Do you prefer to control the cursor with motion controls or the analog stick?

  • Analog stick
  • Motion controls

  1. (Nominator:) I tried to see if this was suggested before, and I didn't find it. It seems like something everybody has an opinion on. Do people prefer the Gamecube controls or Wii remote controls? Burrhead2 (talk) 13:08, August 28, 2021 (EDT)
  2. A good question. — Soprano(talk) 18:21, August 29, 2021 (EDT)
  3. {EspyoT} 12:04, September 5, 2021 (EDT)

Comments

  • We currently have a poll nominee asking about control schemes specific to Deluxe, so would this question be redundant? —Midnight blue (talk) 19:16, August 28, 2021 (EDT)
    • I was thinking more in general, because, for Pikmin and Pikmin 2, some people prefer the standard button and stick controls, and some people refer the Wii remote's pointer. I figured this question to be across the whole series, so I guess it is kinda redundant in the area of P3DX, but maybe some people's opinions differ between games? Or maybe this question should be split off to ask whether they prefer the control types for each game. Burrhead2 (talk) 19:33, August 28, 2021 (EDT)
      • I think this question can still work, but it should be rewritten. Instead of saying "Do you prefer button or pointer controls?" (which is ambiguous), it should say "Do you prefer to control the cursor with motion controls or the analog stick?" There should also only be 2 options, because otherwise a lot of people would pick the neutral option. — Soprano(talk) 04:45, August 29, 2021 (EDT)
        • Works for me. Burrhead2 (talk) 15:36, August 29, 2021 (EDT)
        • Agreed with the non-ambiguous approach. — {EspyoT} 12:04, September 5, 2021 (EDT)
  • Now that Pikmin 4 has come out with a hybrid control scheme, is this question still possible to ask? — Soprano(talk) 00:14, February 1, 2024 (EST)

Have you gotten all Platinum in Pikmin 3's Mission Mode?

  • Yes!
  • No, but I'm still trying
  • No, and I'm not going to try

Support

  1. (Nominator:) It'd be a nice way to gauge how hardcore players are for Mission Mode. — {EspyoT} 10:27, 1 April 2018 (EDT)
  2. I agree. This sounds like a good poll. --Ben (talk) 00:16, November 18, 2019 (EST)
  3. Relevant — Bossclips(talk) 13:14, November 30, 2020 (EST)

Oppose

  1. I think this question would have too many cases where people would be unsure (1-player or 2-player? Original or Deluxe?), and so it probably wouldn't get very interesting results. — Soprano(talk) 17:38, December 21, 2020 (EST)

Comments

  • It's worth noting that Pikmin 3 has separate medals for 1 player and Co-op mode in Mission Mode, and I'm not sure if there's a graceful way for a poll to account for that. Midnight blue (talk) 18:27, August 28, 2021 (EDT)

What do you feel about glitches in the series?

  • I reproduce them a lot!
  • I'm always trying to find them!
  • I like seeing them be found and investigated.
  • I think they're dangerous.
  • I don't know of almost any glitch.

  1. (Nominator:) A niche topic, but with broad enough answers that could poll all audiences. I definitely recommend everyone suggests better answers, though. — {EspyoT} 16:10, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
  2. --Ben (talk) 00:34, November 25, 2019 (EST)
  3. I think this poll is pretty interesting, though it could use better options. — Soprano(talk) 03:01, August 8, 2021 (EDT)

Comments

  • There's a few too many options again, but an interesting topic. — Bossclips(talk) 13:14, November 30, 2020 (EST)
  • What about "I read about them, but avoid using them myself?" 1337Walrus (talk) 06:45, December 1, 2020 (EST)
  • I feel like "how do you feel about glitches" is a bit too vague of a question, since you could get a lot of similar (but different enough) answers to it. However, I'm not sure how you could make the question better. Midnight blue (talk) 18:37, August 28, 2021 (EDT)
  • I'll note that I only supported this poll idea after I got interested in glitches in the series, which shows that it's a bit of a weird question to ask to people who haven't really thought about glitches much. — Soprano(talk) 01:28, September 16, 2022 (EDT)

Which Pikmin game has the best area design?

  • Pikmin
  • Pikmin 2
  • Pikmin 3
  • Pikmin 4

  1. (Nominator:) Each game has quite different approaches to designing its areas, so a poll like this could see what people think about each one. — Soprano(talk) 19:47, November 10, 2020 (EST)

Comments

  • Hey! and 2 seem outclassed in this poll. — Bossclips(talk) 13:14, November 30, 2020 (EST)
    • Actually yeah, H!P probably doesn't make much sense since it's in a genre of its own. Don't get what you mean about 2 being outclassed though. Should I remove H!P from the options? — {EspyoT} 13:25, June 1, 2021 (EDT)
      • Hey! Pikmin still has area design, even if it's done in a totally different way to the 3D games. It's still comparable enough in my opinion. — Soprano(talk) 03:01, August 8, 2021 (EDT)
        • I don't think it's fair to compare the design of stages from a 2D puzzle-ish side scroller to those of 3D real-time strategy games. They're naturally going to be designed differently to suit their respective gameplay styles (and limitations of the hardware.) But since Hey Pikmin doesn't have any peers in the series, there's not really anything close you can compare it to. So I'm not sure on this one. Midnight blue (talk) 18:55, August 28, 2021 (EDT)
          • Guess that's settled, no H!P. — {EspyoT} 12:04, September 5, 2021 (EDT)
