Nintendo Switch Enemy Reel images[edit]
Hi! Since you're uploading a lot of screenshots from the Nintendo Switch version of Pikmin, I feel the need to state that due to their high resolutions they shouldn't be saved as .PNGs but instead .JPGs due to how high resolution they are and, how unlike artwork, every least detail doesn't really need to be preserved in the best quality possible. Basically what I'm saying is that .JPGs are generally better for screenshots of such high resolution compared to .PNGs, which are better for artwork. -Gulliblepikmin 12:29, January 12, 2024 (EST)
- Ah. Well it seems that you've already uploaded all of them. I personally don't see much of a point to reuploading them, so just pretend the message above only applies to image that you may be uploading in the future. -Gulliblepikmin 12:34, January 12, 2024 (EST)
- Hi there! Is there a reason that high resolution images for in-game content are discouraged? That seems like a strange policy and a little counter-intuitive for people using the Wiki as a resource. -Seandwalsh (talk) 12:55, January 12, 2024 (EST)
- It's that the file sizes of high resolution .PNGs end up being quite big due to their quality, and it's that the absolute highest quality doesn't really matter as much for screenshots compared to how it very much does for artwork, as well, the games aren't really at risk of being suddenly unavailable unlike the Nintendo websites that most artwork on Pikipedia originates from. -Gulliblepikmin 04:31, January 13, 2024 (EST)
