Dandori (段取り?) is, as Pikmin 4 puts it, the ability to "organize tasks strategically and working effectively to execute plans". It is a key concept of the Pikmin series as a whole, but is more stressed in Pikmin 4, with characters referring specifically to it, and there being two game modes named after it, Dandori Challenges and Dandori Battles.

Dandori is an especially important concept to the leaflings, a group of castaways who have been turned into Pikmin-like creatures. It is also held in high regard by the Rescue Corps.

Outside of the games, Pikmin series creator Shigeru Miyamoto mentions the word after Pikmin 4's reveal trailer, saying it is how the developers refer to the strategic planning of the series.[1]
