Raw materials are items that can be collected to make bridges and climbing walls. They can also be used by Russ to make gear and items. They appear as light blue pebbles and can be found in piles or inside broken walls and jars, as well as from some enemies when they are killed.

Raw materials are also needed to create items. The first time the player obtains an item will always be free and not require any raw materials.
- Scrummy bone (3 pieces)
- Emergency kit (5 pieces)
- Pikpik carrot (2 pieces)
- Bomb rock (8 pieces)
- Ice Blast (8 pieces)
- Lightning Shock (30 pieces)

Construction
Raw materials are used to make bridges and climbing walls. Russ must be rescued before this is possible. When a Pikmin is ordered to work on a bridge or wall, it will rush back to the S.S. Beagle, from which a blob of clay will come out that the Pikmin catches. The Pikmin then carries this blob towards the destination, molds it with some smacks, and puts it into place.
Each blob of clay costs one piece of raw material. If the player has 0 raw materials, the Pikmin will idle under the S.S. Beagle waiting for more to be retrieved so it can continue.
