About the textures[edit]

Technically, almost none of the icon textures in the article comes straight from the game:

  • Most Pikmin 2 icons are in black and white, and I had to use some alpha masks, layers, gradients, color pickers, screenshots and a good eye to color the textures in the most similar way as to how they look in-game as possible.
  • The Pikmin icons on either game have no texture, and are just squares, though Pikmin's squares also have a circular gradient from white, starting in the center. Again, I had to pay attention, use the color picker and screenshots to recreate the "textures" as faithfully as possible.
  • Likewise, the Onion icons in Pikmin are just circles with a gradient, white on the center, and 75% of the way to the edge, they change color. These were handmade and I tried to make them as close as possible to their in-game look, just like the Pikmin icons.
  • I tried searching around the textures for Olimar's icon, in Pikmin, but the only thing I could find was an arrow pointing up that looked like it was it... except it was shrunk down vertically by 50%. Actually, let's switch perspective: in-game, the texture of a square-ratio'd arrow is stretched to make it longer. I think. Either that, or the actual long triangle texture is somewhere that I missed. Anyway, this normal arrow stretched looks like it fits.
  • The treasure star and S.S. Dolphin icons are the only textures that are exactly the same as they are inside the game. However, on the radar screen, the S.S. Dolphin icon has some sort of purple outline... I think it's applied on the texture's darker parts, but no experiment I did could yield similar results as to what is seen in-game, so I decided to upload the unaltered image and get it over with. — {EspyoT} 20:16, 22 August 2013 (EDT)

Ruler[edit]

In P3, when you pan the radar around, there's a ruler of sorts. Its Koppaite text says "centi", which is likely short for "centimeter". The ruler has big dashes, with 4 small dashes in-between, and 4 tiny dashes between those. I figured that each small dash represents 1cm, so each medium dash is 5cm, and each large dash is 25cm. Using that as a basis, I measured that the Scornet Maestro's arena has a diameter of around 67cm (not counting the border or the access pathway), which sounds about right. So if one day, somebody ever investigates that ruler in detail, this info might be a good base to start on. — {EspyoT} 18:18, 26 June 2017 (EDT)

Split & move controls and appearance to each game's section?[edit]

With Pikmin 4 coming in and adding all these new things, I think it might be worth moving the main controls table out to each game's section. Also, with each game having so many unique icons, I think the main appearance table could also be split like this. Supremekirbo (talk) 05:41, July 6, 2023 (EDT)
