Taxonomy[edit]

This is an extreme nitpick, but I just wanted to explain in detail why I changed "this is impossible in real world taxonomy" to "this is invalid in real-world taxonomy". While genera with the same name in different families shouldn't exist within the same kingdom (we can assume that breadbugs and grub-dogs are part of the same kingdom... if the concept of a kingdom even applies on PNF-404... but I'm getting sidetracked), in practice taxonomy is messy and it definitely happens anyway. In these cases, the first-named species name is said to be the "senior homonym" and is said to be "valid" while the more-recently named species name is said to be the "junior homonym" and is "invalid," and therefore should be changed.

For example, Monarcha is a genus of bird in the family Monarchidae and Monarcha is also a genus of butterfly in the family Geometridae. The bird genus was named first and, since the homonymous moth has finally been noticed, it is now being reclassified. The moth's nomenclature was invalid but it was definitely not impossible! --72.39.150.64 11:17, February 19, 2023 (EST)
