Similar to my work on other wikis, this is a more organized and condensed version of all the maintenance categories and to-do sections in one place. This project is open to anyone to work on and I encourage people to help out. While most are self-explanatory, other notes may be listed under sections. Please remove links once you're done making the required changes.

See here for an up-to-date list of other items tracked by the wiki.

Image improvement project

This project has several components to help improve the wiki's image sector.

To do:

  • Organization (improve names, reduce unused content, bolster galleries and page images)
  • Large Improvement (Replacement of images, ensuring all images are licensed, requesting more images)
  • Small Improvement (Formatting pages with the infoboxes, minor tweaks, consistent naming)
  • Expansion (More new images for the site, possibly creeping into real-world territory)

Poorly named files

These file names are pretty terrible and could be updated to be more descriptive. Only the most obvious of poor names were added to this list. Additionally, make sure jpeg is moved to jpg, all extensions are lowercase, and any apostrophes are straight, not smart. Abbreviations should generally only be reserved for games/products and not areas or dungeons.

Make sure all files are licensed and categorized. Try to tag images of poor quality with the appropriate tag, and replace them if possible.

Controls JPEG to JPG

There were a lot so I put them in one place

Convert to PNG

NCRs

Naming conflict renames (NCRs) are files that are almost identically named (pikmin.jpg vs Pikmin.jpg; Olimar.jpg vs Olimar.png). Usually this is because the body of the file name is not specific enough. Both should be fixed below to be more specific. It is also possible some are duplicates to be deleted.

Talk Page work

The following pages fall into to 3 categories:

  • % - Page no longer exists but the talk does or is a talk page for a redirect
  • & - Page is blank or virtually empty
  • ~ - Page contains no valuable or related content
  • @ - Just a talk page redirect

Not all of these need to be deleted, most likely. A template should be created to indicate a page is archived and to place these archives in a uniform location.
