The Nintendo Switch is Nintendo's 8th home console. It was officially announced with a trailer on October 20^th, 2016, and is scheduled to launch on March 3^rd, 2017. The console itself is a gamepad similar to the Wii U Gamepad, but allows for the sides of the gamepad to disconnect, allowing them to perform as stand-alone controllers. The console also includes a dock, in which you can insert your console, allowing you to connect and stream to your tv screen. Since the entire console is built within this gamepad, the switch doubles as both a home console and a handheld.

Pikmin content

No Pikmin games have been officially confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, however many believe that the fourth installment of Pikmin will be released on this console. The Olimar amiibo, has functionality with the game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch.
