The gas pipes are hazard sources from Pikmin 2. As the name would indicate, they are small tubes that emit a steady stream of poison gas. They can usually be found in caves, although they are present in the overworld as well, commonly placed inside bramble gates or bridges, functioning as a means of only allowing White Pikmin to be used to break down the gate. However, two thirds of the gate can still be taken down with non-Whites, by throwing them on top of the gate and having them break the wall down from the top.

Trivia
- The gas pipes on the areas will respawn 99 days after being destroyed.
- It is possible to destroy a gas pipe without the help of White Pikmin.
- This can be achieved by either throwing Pikmin directly onto the pipe and calling them back(preferably Purple Pikmin) Or by attacking the pipe as Olimar or Louie.
- It is also possible for a Gatlink Groink to destroy a gas pipe as well.
