Chronos Reactor}
The Chronos Reactor.
This ship part is required for the S.S. Dolphin to escape the planet.
Weight 20
Max. carriers 40 Pikmin
Location The Distant Spring

The Chronos Reactor is a ship part that can be very tedious and somewhat difficult to obtain. It uses new technology to warp the space-time continuum and convert it into energy. Olimar is amazed by this part and wonders what secrets can be inside. The Ship in Pikmin 2 also has what appears to be a Chronos Reactor. The Part's location is also the location of the Submerged Castle in Pikmin 2.

Collecting the Part

The Chronos Reactor being carried by Yellow Pikmin.

The part is both time-consuming and rather complicated to recover. First, defeat all of the Bulbears, Blowhogs, and Water Dumples that may be in the way back to the S.S. Dolphin. Yellow Pikmin are needed to get the part off a high perch. However, water surrounds it, so a nearby Golden Candypop Bud on a perch with a geyser must be used. Throw at least 20 blues into the Candypop Bud. Pluck the Yellow Pikmin and throw them on the island. If they drown, whistle at them or bring some Blues to save them. Throw Yellow Pikmin up to the part (it's up pretty high, so you may need to change where you're standing). Let Blue Pikmin carry it back to the ship or use the Lapis Lazuli Candypop Bud to convert the Yellow Pikmin back into Blue Pikmin.
