A Golden Tablet stating that Pikmin can shield themselves from a predator's view by hiding in tall plants.

Golden Tablets are collectables scattered around the surface of PNF-404 in Pikmin 3. They appear as glowing yellow SD Cards or Folders that float in place. Once a Golden Tablet has been uncovered, its text can be read by clicking its icon on the KopPad screen. 

Purpose

It is through Golden Tablets that Alph, Brittany, and Charlie gain understanding of the Pikmin and the world they come from. Golden Tablets, when collected, provide various hints and bits of information of various topics. It is unknown if they respawn, or how many of them are present in Pikmin 3. 

Trivia

• According to HTML decoded on the Japanese website, the Golden Tablets were left behind by Captain Olimar.
  • This would mean that Olimar would've had to have returned to PNF-404 at some point after Pikmin 2 since Olimar is not seen making these or mentioning them in Pikmin 2.
