MoveEdit

The Nintendo.co.uk New Play Control! Pikmin page had this to say about this move.

Swarming Pikmin
A Pikmin might not seem very threatening, but 100 Pikmin make even the largest beast sense its doom. Instead of throwing the Pikmin one-by-one, Olimar can order them to all move in one direction. To swarm, use the Wii Remote to point the target cursor at the desired location in which to swarm, then press and hold the Down Button on the +Control Pad. (Previously, this action was performed by moving the C Stick in a certain direction on the GameCube controller). When a ship’s part is found, Olimar needs to command them to swarm the object and carry it back to The Dolphin. Swarming is also used to move the entire group of Pikmin away from something dangerous, like water or fire.

I think it should be moved to swarming. --Raltseye prata med mej 21:24, 16 October 2018 (EDT)

I'm honestly not sure... On one hand, there's that website, and swarming is the jargon term in the community. On the other hand, I'd say a printed manual is a bit more canon than a website... — {EspyoT} 12:03, September 15, 2019 (EDT)
I'd say that if there's is a certain unclearity which name is the official one, then we should apply the rule of least surprise and use the name that most readers expect the page to be called, which in this case in my opinion seem to be Swarming. --Raltseye prata med mej 20:30, September 16, 2019 (EDT)
Adding on, our best source calls it "move the group", which isn't really an actual name. "Swarming" seems to be the most official thing that does classify as a name, so I'm convinced we should change it. The wiki is also for players to access quick information, and it's easier to imagine players searching "swarming" rather than "group move". --CrazyCow September 16, 2019
I'd say a consensus has been reached. I'll move this later today unless anyone has any objections or get to it before me. --Raltseye prata med mej 06:04, September 17, 2019 (EDT)
Sounds like a plan. Remember to go through all pages that link here and rename them too, for consistency. — {EspyoT} 15:35, September 17, 2019 (EDT)
I noticed something, while editing these. And that is that we're inconsistent as to which verb form an article uses. For instance it's; Carrying, Digging, Dodge, Hiding, Controlling, Dismiss, Swarming, Pluck, Throw, Whistle. Most of these follow the rule that the abilities are in the present participle form while the control articles aren't. But why? I now moved this article to Swarming, but shouldn't it be Swarm? Or should it be Dodging instead of the now Dodge?
I think that we should use the nominative form, as after all we do cover the ability to use something, to sing, to dodge, to dissmiss, to swarm. Espyo, could you move this page, and maybe the other ones too since I can't?
It's also easier to create links that way just writing swarm]ing and swarms instead of swarms --Raltseye prata med mej 18:53, September 17, 2019 (EDT)
Yep, that's the idea – use the nominative form all throughout. Changing some of those might be tricky though, since they sound worse, but I guess we should do it anyway. — {EspyoT} 15:46, September 18, 2019 (EDT)
Yeah, do it in your time. --Raltseye prata med mej 16:54, September 18, 2019 (EDT)

I downloaded the swarm trumpet sounds on twitter some time ago, how can I post the thing to this wiki page? Here's the link btw https://twitter.com/LuigiTKO/status/1431715489261264901 --Pikminfan413 (talk) 01:54, July 27, 2023 (EDT)
