difficultEdit

This was supposed to be a really hard boss in the first Pikmin game, but I never finished it so what do I know?Pikdude 22:13, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Whoever edited this article so that it included attacks, please don't do that. The attacks are in the blue section.Pikdude  22:32, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

StunEdit

Actually, I do have the feeling that it stuns him longer when the explosions only touch the tounge, as unlikely it may seem. I'll try this in a while.--Prezintenden 10:59, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to attempt to see how many bomb rocks it takes to kill this glutton, then see the loser eat all the rocks at once.  EvilLouie13

ImagesEdit

Five new images were just added to the page. Do we really need them all? —Jimbo Jambo

Yes! These new images are better than the ones that were here previously. They aren't as subdued and basically show you exactly how the emperor should be defeated. Portal-Kombat

They are better Quality, and We could remove some of the old ones, now we just need a better quality Pikmin 2 one. Did you see the Youtube Video? Killer bread bug 72

Is that better? The placement of the images looks more formated now. Killer bread bug 72

Ehhhh... needs work
@JJ: No we don't... I'm ~Lonely Turret~ And I approve this message.
We don't exactly need an image for every single step of the battle. One displaying him is enough.--Prezintenden
The ugliest enemy needs one picture give or take... I'm ~Lonely Turret~ And I approve this message.

PhysiologyEdit

Who deleted it?!? Killer bread bug 72

Well apparently there weren't enough people for physiology. I saw the vid. Personally I prefer attacking it without stunning it. Just more epic and challenging that way. Portal-Kombat

NotesEdit

Green, I recall us reaching an agreement not to add them, but I wasn't really sure what do do here. Actually, you know, didn't we just make an Olimar's Journal article? —Jimbo Jambo

Exactly: so should they be there, or on enemy pages? It's not like every Pikmin 1 enemy has journal notes anyway, so seems strange to have them on their pages as they'll only be on some.GP
I think we should keep them all in the Journal article. We can take whatever information from them that isn't already mentioned on the enemies pages and add it, but yeah, I don't think we need a whole section for the notes. —Jimbo Jambo

Why soo puny? when I saw it in pikmin2 it was almost pitifull... NIN10dude

Yikes... not as small as I remembered O_o NIN10DUDE

Blaxcaps?Edit

Is this Prima too? Same applies as at talk:gate then.GP

Probably. It hasn't been confirmed by Nintendo, so it shouldn't be there.Although, what else can we call them? Maybe we'll find out in Pikmin 3, what they are, if the big bulblax is in the game. Also I read the trivia and it DOES resemble a frog in behaviour and slightly appearence.--BeatOli 17:56, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Olimar's NotesEdit

What does Olimar mean when he says that individuals who don't participate in reproduction undergo sex change? White Radish 12:52, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

You mean the notes on the Empress Bulblax, right? It means that males who aren't involved in mating will actually become females through a natural biological process. Sounds strange, but many species of tropical fish can do the same thing. —Jimbo Jambo 13:15, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

What kinds of fish? Because I need to know if I'm eating a transvestite fish at Long John Silver's.Redradish 12:49, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

..............................GP
Come on!  Snakeboss14  OK, parrot fish.
What the heck...-_-' Easy way to figure it out. If it tastes good, it's a male and if it tastes good, it's a female. --FREAK ~Game  Freak~OUT!
<.<' What. The. Hell? O_o I'm ~Lonely Turret~ And I approve this message.

Yeah....just been scarred for life.--BeatOli 18:29, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

Kind of a weird conversation, dont you think?  Snakeboss14

No, wierd would be anyone who reads this going to Long John Silver's and eating ever again.Redradish 12:46, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

They take out the... parts before serving the fish, genius. And by then, you don't need to worry.Pikdude  20:01, May 5, 2010 (UTC)

Frogs actually do that too

This is... odd. You know, for some of us being uncool nerds, we are a lot more civilized than any football player I know. And yes, some fish do that. Not Cod, however, so you are safe at LJS. Ridly   Screech! 16:39, 30 September 2010 (EDT)

...Either way, it's really not gonna kill you. —Jimbo Jambo 22:52, 1 October 2010 (EDT)

Amount a bulblax can chew in pikmin 1Edit

I was messing around in pikmin 1 and decided to see how much the bulblax could get in one gulp. I looked at the wiki and it said only 30-40 pikmin. That is NOT what I got. When that guy ate my pikmin he ate exactly 87 of them. Then squished the rest of them. I'd like to change the number but I want to have other people try this and see if they get around the same results. Please note that this is the first pikmin game and if no one one replies then I will edit thte article. Banjobug 22:13, May 11, 2010 (UTC)Banjobug

Are you sure there was no crushing glitch or bomb-rock explosion?  Snakeboss14
Sometimes certain positions, affected by minuscule changes, can result in a totally different outcome.Pikdude  23:29, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
All I did was go into his den. Wake him up. Go back. Get my 100 red pikmin. Go back into the den and put the pikmin right in front of his tongue.Banjobug 16:03, May 15, 2010 (UTC)Banjobug

Hunts by eyesightEdit

If you as a captain go underneath the emperor bulblax it will move its head from side to side trying to look for you and starts to move off. It doesn't even do a jump attack. I believe because of this that it hunts by eyesight.

No. Remember how it comes out of the ground as soon as you touch him? I think it's by both eyesight and touch.  Snakeboss14

Easy Way to Beat Him.Edit

Note this is NPC, not the original (it could work, but I don't know). I thought maybe this should be added if it works.

Get your pikmin around the back of the arena before waking him up. Make sure they are out of arena and onto the grass turf. Now, you just watch the Bulblax and wait for a good moment to throw a Yellow Pikmin into the arena to throw a bomb-rock at him. When he is knocked out, rush in and throw as many Red Pikmin as possible onto his face and leave when he wakes up. You are completely sheltered from his attacks (tongue attack works if he is right in front of you, but otherwise you are completely safe). This makes it only a matter of time, and it is easy to accomplish zero-death runs this way.

Note that the music switches between dramatic pipe organ music and cheerful music a lot when doing this. I am Peach Bulborb, and I approve all Grub-Dogs! (talk) 14:16, 25 October 2013 (EDT)

SizeEdit

in pikmin 2, the bulblax on the bulblax kingdom's final floor is bigger than other bulblax. Please confirm.  Super-toad 65  04:20, 8 March 2016 (EST)

If you're asking that because you saw it in-game and you need somebody else to confirm it, then yes, it's bigger. The Pikmin 2 strategy section already says that the Emperor Bulblax at the Bulblax Kingdom is larger than normal. If you're asking because you read the wiki and want somebody to confirm that it's true, check out the technical information section on the article. This enemy has a parameter for what its size (scale) should be on the Bulblax Kingdom. 1.0 is normal size, 1.5 is a fair bit larger. — {EspyoT} 06:30, 8 March 2016 (EST)

Respawn?Edit

Curious to know whether or not the Emperor respawns in Pikmin 1. Most enemies do, after a period of days, and it wouldn't ordinarily come up for most players considering it drops the final part and there's no reason to stick around to see if it does respawn... but I am quite curious. Anyone doing a less-than-9-day-run challenge, could you test to see if it respawns by Day 30? -- Amnesiac Journal 22:22, February 25, 2023 (EST)

I beat it on day 17, and then went to sunset until day 22, and it didin't respawn. Note that i was on Pikmin 1 (Nintendo Switch) if that matters. Mama09001 (talk) 09:34, June 12, 2024 (EDT)

Glitch ( maybe )Edit

After beating it in PIKMIN 1 when it drops the secret safe, when the dust effect when it dies appears, if the discovery monologue starts, by standing where it will land, the dust will continue until when the bulblax should be underground, it will then stop. Though the bulblax will still be there, frozen, though once the monologue ends, it will do its death animation, without the dust. This was on the switch if it helps, but not sure if it is a glitch or not. 49.197.154.222 01:18, July 10, 2024 (EDT)
