CleanedEdit
Says it'll be automatically cleaned every hour on the template...should that be changed too? - Greenpickle(talk) 14:27, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
What do you mean? Do you want to delete the sentance, or actually make it clean itself every hour? Personally, I liked the idea that anyone could just write a challenge or thought he/she came up with, regardless of personal comments or grammer. However, I don't think that the sandbox is meant for that. I don't know how to activate the self deletion; but if you do, then go ahead.--Prezintenden(babble) 14:38, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I think it might be a good idea to allow this page to delete automatically every hour. If you find it appropriate, perhaps you could create a Pikmin challenge page, in which game challenges for best score, least amount of days completion, etc. could be posted.-Me_just_in
What I meant was, seeing as Me just in added that notice saying it'll clean itself every hour, should the template that's seen when not editing be changed to match that? Don't know why exactly the one hour thing was added though. I have no idea how to make it clean itself, and think a better thing to have would be something more qualitative like 'this page is occasionally cleaned' or 'things put here will not remain permanently'. - Greenpickle(talk) 17:11, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
That seems logical if it were to be cleaned occasionally. (I however did not put the notice that the page would be cleaned every hour, I merely suggested it, and actually deleted that notice off of the sandbox.)-Me_just_in
Just noticed you didn't put that there, and I have no idea where I got one hour from. Seeing as it obviously isn't automatically cleaned every twelve hours, that should be changed. For now, I'll use the latter of my two suggestions; feel free to change it to a better one. - Greenpickle(talk) 19:57, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Lighting articleEdit
I like it! Just have a few comments:
- "Lighting is an arrangement of light sources" I'm not quite if that description makes sense... I mean, it does, but we can probably come up with better, no?
- In general, we should try to use a simpler language. It's understandable for the most part, but I'm afraid that some things might be a bit confusing for people not in the know of how stuff works.
- Can you better explain that part about nectar, gates, etc. having their own lighting? It's been a while since I've played without the Solar System (duh), so I can't recall what's so special, but apparently you're saying that those objects will appear fully visible in the distance, where everything else is dark? Also, isn't the distance just a bit darker, not completely black? The article gives the idea that without the Solar System, everything past the leader's radius is pure black.
- We need info on the shadows cast by leaves and such.
- The image used for the Ionium Jet should be one from gameplay, not the concept art. Otherwise it's easy to claim that it's a lie that the environment gets reflected in-game. Dolphin will probably help.
- The image used for the Plasm Wraith should probably come from the battle. The cutscene doesn't convey "real-time realistic reflection" as well, plus you can barely see any reflection there.
- We could have an image of the takeoff sequence at the end of a day, which helpfully demonstrates the ground's bump-mapping (that thing is bump-mapping, right? I actually never know...) – the lights from the rocket's exhausts highlight the bumps on the ground. Looks pretty, too.
- Would it make sense to include info on how the Piklopedia handles nighttime lighting as well?
Other than that, I can't help but feel like we're still missing info... — {EspyoT} 06:46, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
