Summary

Texture used for the Mega Tweeter, on the Exploration Kit listing found on the pause menu of Pikmin 2.

The textures in the actual game are in black and white, so some tricks with Paint.NET and some plugins were needed to get a colored texture that resembles what's seen in-game.

  1. The lightness is set to 0. This gives us an alpha mask of the texture. This alpha masked is then saved somewhere.
  2. Back to the original image, we multiply it inversely with the pretended color. It's not easy to figure out the exact color used in the game, but it's safe to assume colors with indexes that are multiples of 64 are used.
  3. A white background is placed behind the texture, so the gaps between the wireframes are colored white.
  4. The alpha mask is now used to crop the final texture.

Perhaps there's an easier way to do it, but it's not important.
