When plucking a Seedling or when a Pikmin receives its Decor, a short discovery animation will play, based on the Pikmin's type and the decor it's wearing. You can replay the animation by going into the Pikmin viewer menu, selecting a Pikmin to see its information, and tapping on the Pikmin.
Standard Pikmin
- Red Pikmin: Jumps and waves its left hand.
- Yellow Pikmin: Leans forward and stretches backward with its eyes closed.
- Blue Pikmin: Does a quick upward stretch with its eyes closed.
- White Pikmin: Leans forward and shakes its head from side to side.
- Purple Pikmin: Stamps its right foot on the ground.
- Rock Pikmin: Stamps its right foot on the ground, faster than the Purple Pikmin.
- Winged Pikmin: Flies in a vertical loop and shakes its head.
Restaurant
Looks up at its chef hat and holds its head.
Cafe
Quickly hides in its cup, except Winged that tries to get out the cup.
The designs of the cups are based on enemies from other Pikmin games.
- The Red Pikmin has a white cup with a brown stripe, like a Mamuta.
- The Yellow Pikmin has a red cup with white spots, like a Bulborb.
- The Blue Pikmin has a black cup with yellow lines, like a Pyroclasmic Slooch.
- The White Pikmin has a yellow cup with green spots and a green base, like a Yellow Wollyhop.
- The Purple Pikmin has a cup with purple and grey stripes and a red handle, like a Fiery Blowhog.
- The Rock Pikmin has a white cup with brown spots, like a Whiptongue Bulborb.
- The Winged Pikmin has a cup with purple and blue stripes, like a Puffy Blowhog.
Sweetshop
Spins around like a ballet dancer.
The designs of the macarons are later referenced in Pikmin 4, where they appear as treasures. Interestingly, these Decor Pikmin existed in the game at launch, even though Pikmin 4 wouldn't release until around 2 years later.
Red, Yellow, and Blue: Spins the Donut around its waist like a hula hoop.
White: Jumps and the Donut gets stuck on its stem.
Purple: Falls over and spins in a circle.
Rock: Poses and the Donut falls over its eyes, and it pushes it back up.
Winged: Flies around and spins.
Movie Theater
Red, Yellow, Blue, White and Winged: A piece of popcorn falls off and the Pikmin picks it up again.
Purple and Rock: Moves the 3D Glasses.
Pharmacy
Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Winged, and Rock: Swings its tool out as a weapon.
Purple: Hides behind its tool like a shield.
Zoo
They roar, pretending to be a lion.
Forest
Waves, and then notices that the pinchers of the beetle "wave" as well. The Pikmin then unsuccessfully tries to get the pinchers to "wave" again.
Takes a bow. Red, Yellow, Blue and White Pikmin fall over because of the weight of the acorn.
Waterside
Pushes the lure up slightly.
Post Office
Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Winged, and Purple: Tries to peel off the postage stamps.
Rock: Spins to show off all of their stamps.

Rainy Day
Leaf Hat 1: Check the leaf and then stretches it.
Leaf Hat 2: Looks up at the leaf and shakes its head.
Leaf Hat 3: Looks up and bows down to shake its stem.
Snowy Day
Blue: Snow falls off its head and melts, and the Pikmin is shocked. A new snowball fall from the sky and lands on it's head.
White: Waves with stick hands.
Theme Park
Drops the ticket, goes behind it to show it and then goes back to stick it on again.

Runs around like they are driving the bus.

All 5 rarities for each type of Fortune Decor Pikmin have the same animation, and a unique animation when the Pikmin receives its costume. The only difference between each rarities costume is the character that appears on the paper, and the amount of flowers.
Red, Yellow, Blue, and Purple: Shakes and flips the paper.
White: Shakes the paper and it falls, then sticks the paper back to its head.
Rock: Flips the paper.
Winged: Flies around with the paper.
Appliances Store
Large Battery: Puts the battery down and jumps up, sitting on the top of the battery while dancing. Jumps down and sticks it on again.
Small Battery: One battery falls off, they turn around to see it. Jumps on their back to get the battery back.
Causes their lights to flicker slightly.

Jumps into the air like Mario.
Lunar New Year Ornaments
Red, Yellow, and Blue: Turns around and shows off the character on the back of the ornament:
