Event Challenges are a type of month-long events that have taken place every month since May 2023. The current Event Challenge and the players current progress on the missions can be viewed by clicking on the "event challenge" tab. This tab displays a green tile featuring a big flower at its center, with a circular track arranged around the big flower, which is split into four sections. Beneath this, missions are shown with various requirements for completion; steps taken, flowers planted, Pikmin grown, petals plucked, or mushrooms destroyed. The player's Mii is displayed marching upon the track, and will advance as missions are completed, leaving a trail of flowers behind them. As each of the four sections is completed, new missions will be presented, and the Big Flower in the center will grow through its phases; from a few tiny shoots at first, to a sprout, then a bud, and finally into a bloomed Big Flower once the challenge stage is completed. Upon completion, the challenge stage will advance, awarding the player a Gold Seedling of the event's Special Decor Pikmin and placing them upon a new track with a new Big Flower to grow. There are four challenge stages in total, each with their own missions, and each event's missions vary slightly. Upon completing the fourth stage, the player will reset to the first stage and restart the process.

When a mission is completed, tapping its entry will bring the player to a roulette screen displaying six items, with one of the player's Pikmin beneath. These items range from various types of petals, items such as mushroom recharge tickets, event currency for the current event, or a Huge or Gold Seedling of the event's Special Decor Pikmin. Tapping will cause the item roulette to begin revolving, and tapping again will cause the roulette to slow, stopping as the Pikmin jumps and taps the winning block, with the Pikmin waving happily as the prize is displayed. If the player does not tap the second time, this process will eventually conclude on its own. The timing or absence of a tap does not affect the outcome, as each prize is predetermined.

Premium Event Pass

The Premium Event Pass.

The Premium Event Pass is a unique item available in the shop during nearly all Event Challenges since the 2023 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin Event. Only players Level 20 and above are able to purchase the pass. It always costs 999 coins, and features the same benefits. It is a one-time purchase, and the benefits only apply to the event during which the pass is purchased.

These benefits include:

• Choosing a special Colored Gold Seedling for a specific type of Decor Pikmin after clearing all 4 stages of the event missions.
• Getting extra seasonal nectar when each stage of the event mission is cleared, with a total of 160 nectar after all 4 stages.
• If the pass is purchased within the first week of the event, a bonus of 500 event currency for the current event is given as a bonus.

Mystery Boxes

During all Event Challenges since the 2023 Halloween Event, mushrooms have rewarded Mystery Boxes once defeated. Since the 2024 Lunar New Year Event, Mystery Boxes are only rewarded when completing a battle against an event mushroom. These boxes always appear at the completion of a battle, after viewing the total score. The rewards that Mystery Boxes contain varies between Event Challenges, and some events have had unique designs or types of Mystery Boxes.

The rewards change slightly between Event Challenges, but always consist of either Huge or Gold Seedlings for a specific type of Decor Pikmin, event currency, petals, nectar, or any of the items that are available in the shop. There are usually two types of Mystery Boxes, and the rarer types consist of more valuable rewards, such as Seedlings or high amounts of Event Currency.

Event Currency

During all Event Challenges since the 2023 Halloween Event, a special type of currency has been made available to obtain through various methods. This currency has a unique design for each Event Challenge, but always functions the same way, and has only had small changes between each appearance. Event Currency is obtained by clearing event challenge missions, flower planting, and through various methods in the shop.

Event Currency has no use outside of it’s respective event, and is only used to progress through a mission list to obtain Mii parts and Gold Seedlings. The missions progress automatically as currency is collected.

There have been multiple designs for the Event Currency during various events:

• Halloween Candy, during the 2023 Halloween Event.
• Memory Fragments, during the 2nd Anniversary Event.
• Gingerbread Cookies, during the 2023 Holiday Event.
• Party Poppers, during the 2024 New Years Event.
• Red Envelopes, during the 2024 Lunar New Year Event.
• Poetry Slips, during the 2024 Flower Card Event.
• Chocolate Bunnies, during the 2024 Spring Festival Event.
• Diamond Cookies, during the 2024 Playing Card Event.

Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin

The Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from May 8^th at 00:00 until May 31^st, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:

• This Event Challenge introduced the Sneaker Keychain Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear sneaker keychains on their bodies, with a unique design for each type of Pikmin.
• Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin.
• New Mii costumes were added to the shop; Graffiti Jackets and Sneakers matching the design of the keychains. The Graffiti Jackets were a permanent addition, whilst the Sneakers were only available from during the event period, and included Special Missions that rewarded the matching Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin upon completion.
• During the Event Challenge, Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 20 points of attack power.

2023 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin

The Fingerboard Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from June 1^st at 00:00 until June 21^st, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:

• This Event Challenge introduced new designs of the Fingerboard Special Decor Pikmin type for Blue, White, and Rock Pikmin. The existing Fingerboard Decor Pikmin from the 2022 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin event were also available to obtain.
• Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Fingerboard Decor Pikmin.
• New Mii costumes were added to the shop; T-shirts with prints matching the design of the fingerboards. They included Special Missions that rewarded the matching Fingerboard Decor Pikmin upon completion.
• During the Event Challenge, Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 20 points of attack power.
• The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and features the same perks as usual.

2023 Chess Piece Decor Pikmin

The Chess Piece Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from June 22^nd at 00:00 until July 20^th, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:

• This Event Challenge introduced new designs and colors of the Chess Piece Special Decor Pikmin type for all Pikmin types. The existing Chess Piece Decor Pikmin from the 2022 Chess Piece Decor Pikmin event were also available to obtain.
• New Mii costumes were added to the shop; Various black and white costumes and Chess Piece Hats matching the design and color of the chess pieces. The black and white costumes were a permanent addition, whilst the Chess Piece Hats were only available during the event period, and included Special Missions that rewarded the matching type and color of Chess Piece Decor Pikmin upon completion.
• The color of the Chess Piece Decor Pikmin available in Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions changed every Thursday, which was also reflected in the shop via the color of Chess Piece Hats.
• Gold Seedlings from referral codes grew into a random type and color of Chess Piece Decor Pikmin, no matter what the current rotation color was.

Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin

The Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from July 21^st at 00:00 until August 13^th, 2023 at 23:59 local time, to celebrate the launch of Pikmin 4. Features of this event included:

• This Event Challenge introduced the Pikmin 4 Spaceship Special Decor Pikmin type. Red, Yellow, Blue, White, and Winged Pikmin wear spaceships based on the S.S. Beagle, and Purple and Rock Pikmin wear spaceships based on the S.S. Shepherd
• Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin.
• Special Mission Tickets were available in for purchase in the shop, which unlocked a bonus mission when purchased. There was a ticket for each type of Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin.
• During the Event Challenge, Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 25 points of attack power. The Koppaite Space Suit Decor Pikmin also gained an additional 25 points of attack power, because of the Pikmin 3 Deluxe Throwback Event that took place right before this Event Challenge.
• The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and features the same perks as usual.

Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin

The Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from August 14^th at 00:00 until September 10^th, 2023 at 23:59 local time. The event was divided into two parts; the first part started on August 14^th, and the second part on August 26^th. In the first part:

• This Event Challenge introduced the Mahjong Tile Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear mahjong tiles on their bodies, with a different tile for each type of Pikmin. There are 2 different tiles for all Pikmin types, with a total of 14 new Decor Pikmin. Each set of 7 Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin were obtained through different methods during the different parts of the event.
• The first set of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin could be obtained from Huge or Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions.

In the second part:

• Mystery mushrooms were added. These had green and yellow gradients with no spots and only appeared normal-sized. Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin had a much higher attack power than standard Decor Pikmin. All mushrooms were converted to these mushrooms at the start of the event, and throughout the event, after a mushroom respawned, it would usually become a mystery mushroom, with a small chance of becoming another type of mushroom. At the end of the event, all mystery mushrooms were converted back to other types of mushrooms.
• A new set of limited-time missions were introduced with a focus on destroying mushrooms. Clearing each mission gave a Mahjong themed T-shirt, with three total to obtain.
• Defeating a mushroom would grant the player a Mystery Box once completed. There were Common Yellow Mystery Boxes, and rarer Red Mystery Boxes.
  • Rewards from Common Mystery Boxes consisted of petals, flower planting accelerators, or mushroom recharge tickets.
  • Rewards from Rare Mystery Boxes consisted of Huge or Gold Seedlings that grew into the second set of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin.

During both parts:

• Gold Seedlings from referral codes grew into a random type of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin from both sets.
• Special Mission Tickets were available in for purchase in the shop, which unlocked a bonus mission when purchased. Once completed, players were able to choose which type of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin a special Colored Gold Seedling was rewarded for.
• During the Event Challenge, Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 20 points of attack power.
• The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and features the same perks as usual.
• All features of the first part of the event were active during the second part of the event.

Ice Cream Decor Pikmin

From September 11^th, 2023 through to September 30^th, 2023, a set of Ice Cream Decors were avaliable.There was a total of 7 Decor to get.

The event featured:

• The Premium Event Pass, which only Players at lv50 and over could purchase it for 999 coins. It would give additional seasonal nectar after the completion of each stage, and at every 4 stages, players would be able to choose an additional Colored Gold Seedling which rewarded the Ice Cream Decor Pikmin of their choice.
• All postcards obtained during the event featured a special Ice Cream themed background and stamp design.
• A Limited Time Event Pack was available.
• From September 25^th to October 2^nd, 2023, players could purchase a Special mission ticket, which would need to be completed by November 30^th, 2023.

From September 11^th, 2023 through until after September 30^th, 2023, Gold Seedlings from referral codes reward players with Ice Cream Decor Pikmin.

During this period these decor Pikmin were stronger when battling mushrooms, gaining an additional 25 points of strength.

This event was announced on September 4^th, 2023.

2023 Halloween Event

A special event themed around Halloween was held from October 6^th to October 31^st, 2023. Features from this event included:

• Halloween Candy, a new type of event currency, was introduced.
  • Halloween Candy could be accumulated and exchanged for Halloween Mii costumes and Gold Seedlings.
  • Halloween Candy could be obtained by completing Event Challenge Missions, as bonuses for the Premium Event Pass, from Mystery Boxes, and from the Event Challenge Special Pack.
• New and previously-available Mii Halloween costumes were sold in the Shop.
• An Event Challenge with missions that rewarded nectar, Gold Seedlings, Halloween Candy, and other items was introduced.
  • Gold Seedlings can be grown into newly-introduced Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin.
  • Completing the Event Challenge did not guarantee obtaining the whole set of Pikmin.
• A new Event Premium Pass was offered in the shop.
  • Unlike previous passes, the Event Premium Pass was available for users from Lv20 onward (previously Lv50).
  • The Event Pass included 300 Halloween Candy if purchased within the first week of the event.
  • For every stage cleared, holders of the Premium Event Pass obtained extra seasonal nectar. Moreover, clearing every 4th stage granted an additional Gold Seedling for a specific type of Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin.
• Normal-sized Halloween Mushrooms were introduced.
  • Destroying these mushrooms awarded players with a Mystery Box which contained items either seedlings for the previously-introduced Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin or Halloween Candy.
  • The color of the fruits obtained from destroying these mushrooms was assigned at random.
• On weekends during the event, Giant Halloween Mushrooms appeared. These mushrooms drop Mystery Boxes that contain more Halloween Candy than normal-sized Halloween Mushrooms. Additionally, players could get postcards with a Halloween design from these mushrooms.
  • Giant mushrooms appeared on October 14^th-October 15^th, October 21^st-October 22^nd, and October 28^th-October 29^th.
  • Giant mushrooms dropped fruits that contain nectar for seasonal flowers.
  • Giant mushrooms not destroyed within the event time remained available even after the event's end for a short time.
• The following goodies were available in the shop:
  • Event Challenge Special Pack including Halloween Candy and helpful items for the Event Challenge.
  • Halloween Gift Box and Gift Pack to send to friends.
  • Jack-O'-Lantern Decor Pikmin Complete Ticket offering missions to meet all 7 types of Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin.
  • Jack-O'-Lantern Decor Pikmin Special Mission Ticket offering missions to obtain a seedling for a specific type for Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin.
  • From October 23^rd to November 2^nd, 2023, Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin Special Mission Ticket with missions to obtain a Colored Gold Seedling for Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin.
• Both Jack-O'-Lantern Decor Pikmin and Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin were stronger in mushroom battles.
  • Against Halloween mushroom, Jack-o'-lantern Decor Pikmin gained a 250-point strength bonus, whereas Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin gained 500-point strength bonus.
  • Against other types of mushroom, both Jack-o'-lantern and Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin gained a 25-point strength bonus.

A special event themed around the game's 2nd Anniversary is being held from November 3^rd to November 26^th, 2023. Features from this event included:

• Memory Fragments, a new type of event currency, was introduced.
  • Memory Fragments would be accumulated and complete a set of missions for Gold Seedlings which would grow into Puzzle: 2021 Fall Memories Decor Pikmin.
  • Memory Fragments would be obtained by completing Event Challenge Missions, from Flower Planting - 1 for every 100 flowers, as bonuses for the Premium Event Pass, from Mystery Boxes, and from the Event Challenge Special Pack.
• An Event Challenge with missions that reward petals, Gold Seedlings, Memory Fragments, and other items was introduced.
  • Gold Seedlings from the Event Challenge would be grown into Puzzle: 2022 Summer Memories Decor Pikmin.
  • Completing the Event Challenge does not guarantee obtaining the whole set of Pikmin.
• A new Event Premium Pass was offered in the shop.
  • The Event Pass included 300 Memory Fragments if purchased within the first week of the event.

A special event themed around winter holidays was held from December 6^th to December 27^th, 2023. Features included:

• Gingerbread Cookies, a new type of event currency, was introduced.
  • Gingerbread Cookies could be accumulated and exchanged for Holiday-themed Mii costumes and Gold Seedlings for Winter Sticker Decor Pikmin.
  • Gingerbread Cookies could be obtained by completing Event Challenge Missions, as bonuses for the Premium Event Pass, from flower planting (1 cookie every 100 flowers), from Mystery Boxes, and from the Event Challenge Special Pack.
• An Event Challenge with missions that rewarded nectar, Gold Seedlings, Gingerbread Cookies, and other items was introduced.
  • Gold Seedlings can be grown into Mitten Decor Pikmin. The event introduced White, Purple, Winged, and Rock Mitten Decor Pikmin, and brought back Red, Yellow, and Blue variations introduced the previous year.
  • Completing the Event Challenge does not guarantee obtaining the whole set of Pikmin.
• A new Event Premium Pass was offered in the shop.
  • The Event Premium Pass was available for users from Lv20 onward.
  • The Event Pass included 500 Gingerbread Cookies if purchased within the first week of the event.

2024

2024 New Years Event

The 2024 New Years Event took place from January 1^st, 2024 0:00 to January 28^th, 2024 23:59 local time.

This event resembled the 2023 New Years Event, with a new decor category of "2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin" released. It followed the already established roulette rounds model, with rewards varying between the usual petals, gold or huge event seedlings, freemium items, and the event currency "Party Poppers". Party Poppers were also rewarded for planting flowers (at a rate of 1 poppers per 100 flowers planted) and for clearing mushrooms. Giant Mystery mushrooms were guaranteed to drop 150 Party Poppers, while all other mushrooms dropped 60, 70, 80, 150, or something else, like mushroom recharge tickets. All mushrooms destroyed would drop some kind of mystery box rewards. Giant Mystery mushrooms appeared on three weekends during the event (Jan 13/14, Jan 20/21 and Jan 27/28). As usual, the 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin would be much more effective against all Mystery mushrooms than any other Pikmin.

The 2024 Lunar New Year Event took place from February 1^st, 2024 to February 25^th, 2024 local time.

The event currency for this event was 'Red Envelopes'. Gold seedlings from regular missions hatched into "Lunar New Year Ornament: Red" Decor Pikmin, some of which were also available in 2022 and 2023. Gold seedlings from event missions (see table below) grew into "Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold" Decor Pikmin, some of which were also available in 2023. Special Lunar New Year Mushrooms in red and gold colors granted Mystery Boxes when destroyed. Both types of Lunar New Year Ornament Decor Pikmin were particularly powerful against them, as well as being slightly stronger against all mushrooms.

Giant Lunar New Year Mushrooms carried a rare type of Mystery Box. They appeared on three weekends throughout the event (February 10/11, 17/18 and 24/25).

Mii outfits sold in the shop boosted the number of Red Envelopes obtained from flower planting when worn by 30%, and Head items (either Plum blossom hairpins or Small perching pandas) sold in the shop or earned from the event missions granted an additional 20% boost.

The 2024 Flower Card event took place from March 1^st at 00:00 until March 31^st, 2024 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:

• The event introduced an additional two Flower Card Decor Pikmin for each of the seven Pikmin types, totalling 14 new decor types.
• Players could collect Poetry Slips to obtain exclusive Mii outfits and Gold seedlings for Red, Yellow, and Blue Flower Card 2024 Decor Pikmin.
  • Poetry Slips were obtained from completing event challenge missions, planting flowers, and from destroying mysterious mushrooms.
• Players could also complete challenge missions to obtain rewards at random. These could range from Poetry Slips to Gold Seedlings for Purple, White, Rock, and Winged Pikmin, and other items.
  • In addition, when the Big Flower at the center of the stage bloomed, players were guaranteed to obtain a Gold Seedling on top of the random rewards.
  • As the rewards were random, it was not guaranteed that players would complete the whole set of Decor Pikmin.
• A Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and would grant the following perks for the entirety of the event:
  • For every stage cleared, players received extra seasonal nectar.
  • When players cleared the 4th stage, they received an additional Colored Gold Seedling of their desired Pikmin Type, and Flower Card design of Flower Card 2024 Decor Pikmin. This applied to the 4th stage and any subsequent stages that are a multiple of 4 (8th, 12th, 16th, etc).
• The event pass was only available for players that were level 20 and above, and was not available for those level 19 and below.
• If the pass was purchased before 23:59 local time on March 7^th, players received a bonus of Poetry Slips.
• Mysterious mushrooms appeared throughout this event, and rewarded players with Mystery Boxes when defeated.
  • Mystery boxes contained items such as Poetry Slips, flower petals, etc.
  • Flower Card Decor Pikmin were strongest against these mushrooms.
• Additionally, on weekends after March 9^th, players encountered Giant Mysterious mushrooms that carried a rarer type of mystery box.

The 2024 Spring Festival event took place from April 1^st at 00:00 until April 29^th, 2024 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:

• The event introduced two new Decor Pikmin sets, for each of the seven Pikmin types, totaling 14 new decor types. One was a new type of Easter Egg, referred to in-game as Bunny Eggs, earned by completing event challenge missions.
  • The other was a new type of seasonal sticker for Spring, similar to the Winter Stickers previously released. They had a chance to be earned from Gold Seedlings obtained from Spring Festival Eggs earned by destroying Giant Spring Festival mushrooms, and from completing weekly challenges after April 13^th, 2024. • Players could collect Chocolate Bunnies to obtain exclusive Mii outfits and Gold Seedlings for Easter Egg Decor Pikmin from the 2023 Easter Event.
  • Chocolate Bunnies were obtained from completing event challenge missions, planting flowers, and from destroying Spring Festival mushrooms.
• Players could also complete challenge missions to obtain rewards at random. These could range from Chocolate Bunnies to Gold Seedlings for Bunny Egg Decor Pikmin, and other items.
