Dandori Battles are a new challenge in Pikmin 4, serving as a successor to 2-Player Battle from Pikmin 2 and Bingo Battle from Pikmin 3. They can be found by accessing special entrances around the areas in Story Mode. After rescuing a certain castaway, you can also access these from the Rescue Command Post.
In Dandori Battles, the player (marked with blue) and an unknown Olimar-looking leafling (marked with red) compete against each other to see who can earn the most points. Collecting treasures and enemies earns a player points, and the player with the most points when the timer runs out is declared the winner. The Pikmin used are not the player's, but rather are given to them and require them to cultivate more (up to 50) using their onion. Each stage is ranked with a "Dandori Level" of 1 to 5, indicating the level of difficulty. The player can earn medals based on how many points they've gotten over their opponent. Only a bronze is required to complete the challenge, but silver, gold, and platinum medals can also be earned.

Dandori Battle mode
Dandori Battle mode is a new mode selectable from the title screen. Here, the player can challenge a second player or a CPU to a round of Dandori Battle.
