Weight

I thought it was established that each Pikmin only weighed a tenth of a gram, with purples weighing one gram....

We did have a long discussion, but don't recall that as the result. I'd have to read through it again, though.--Prezintenden

How much is a gram anyway? And I think that a Pikmin weighs a gram, but that would mean Purple Pikmin weigh 10 grams... And that would be too heavy for a Pikmin, right?Pikdude 20:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Sound familiar? Forget maths and physics. Pikmin is a game, and it has never actually been stated that these are grams. To your 10 gram Pikmin: the "atom density" goes in that direction. Before you ask more, please read the text.--Prezintenden

Okay, i'm just going to assume that a gram is pretty small and therefore Purple Pikmin DO weigh 10 grams. And, yes, I read the entire text, and submitted my own theroy.Pikdude 00:07, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Just to point out that each normal pikmin definately does weigh a gram and purples weigh 10, as the Doomsday Apparatus weighs 1kg (1000 grams) and needs 100 purple pikmin to carry it.

--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 18:26, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Ick, no. Looking at other treasures, they just don't weigh the right relative amounts, so we can't work out a Pikmin's weight. Sorry about the reaction, but we've...discussed this before. In great detail. I forget where, maybe Doomsday Apparatus or Purple Pikmin talk pages.GP

Name

Er, I didn't mean to imply that this article had a conjectural title. Even though it was never officially named, it is what it is: a paper bag. —Jimbo Jambo

If it's not officially named, it's conjectural. That's how I thought of it.--Prezintenden
That's what I was thinking, too.GP

The Ship officially named it, I think. I was waiting on Day 1 waiting for flower Pikmin for a long time, and the Ship said something about putting Pikmin on something.--

Oh, yeah. I'll check that.GP
Didn't mention the bag on day one. Too lazy to check 2.GP

Mabe it was 2. I was younger.--

It just calls it 'an object blocking your path'. Huh.GP

A hint in Pikmin 3 Deluxe calls a paper bag a "shopping bag". Does this mean that "shopping bag" is the official name of this obstacle? — Botanist(talk) 22:18, June 28, 2021 (EDT)

Indeed, I couldn't find the string "bag", or "paper" anywhere else, in any version of the game (well, there were some matches, but they were irrelevant). I guess that should be the name. This won't help much in dividing the P2 bag and the P3 bag however, because the P2 bag can just as easily also be called a shopping bag. — {EspyoT} 14:08, July 5, 2021 (EDT)
Well that's weird, because I just checked the original version of Pikmin 3, and when you lock onto one, the name that comes up is "Paper Bag" (with the capital B). I think lock-on text is more reliable than hint text, so the article's name can stay. I made a redirect for Shopping bag a month ago, so the situation is fine. — Botanist(talk) 18:49, July 5, 2021 (EDT)
