The Electripede (デジゲジ?, lit.: "Electric Centipede") is an enemy found in Hey! Pikmin. It is a centipede-like enemy made up of three body segments, each with two pairs of legs. When struck, it stops in place and starts emitting electric sparks that light up the area nearby. This can be used to make Bloominous Stemples bloom.

Behavior

Electripedes travel around the sides of blocks, inching forward like caterpillars. They change direction when they reach a corner, and start crawling down the side, bottom, other side, or the top again, in a continuous cycle. If a Pikmin is thrown at it or Olimar touches it, it stops and becomes electric for twenty seconds. This can damage Olimar, but can also help him since it makes Bloominous Stemples bloom.

Locations

  • Sweltering Parchlands
    • Lights in the Darkness: Electripedes are found commonly across the level. Their main purpose is to be a way for Olimar to access new areas, as their light makes Bloominous Stemples flower and act as platforms.

Strategy

Electripedes don't directly attack the player, acting as an obstacle at worst. They're mostly used to bloom Bloominus Stemples. Either touching it with Olimar or a thrown Pikmin will cause it to emit light.

Notes

Hey! Pikmin logs

It creeps along walls and ceilings in the dark, generating the electricity it uses to zap away threats. If I could get a bunch of these and harness them for a power plant, I'd be richer than the company president.
