Cold-Hearted Guardian is the boss battle area in the Snowfall Field. In it, the player faces off against the Luring Slurker, which drops the Beneficial Intelligence. Completing this area grants access to the nex sector, the Lushlife Murk.

Plot

When Frozen Hazard is completed, a cutscene starts, taking place inside the S.S. Dolphin II's cockpit, wherein the ship announces it found a treasure, but also an indigenous creature. After this chapter is completed, a similar cutscene takes place, but the ship announces that it discovered a sector filled with poison instead, the Lushlife Murk.

Description

The entire area consists of the arena in which the player fights the boss. It is an enclosed room inside a cave, and it's floor is just one long wooden board, which spans roughly 2 screen-widths wide. The board is on the surface of water, and can raise and lower throughout the battle.

Luring Slurker introduction		From the starting location, the player goes a bit forward.	A few Blue Pikmin are gleefully jumping in place, looking at the Luring Slurker's dangling appendage. It eventually strikes down into the water below, knocking most Pikmin off their feet. They get up as the appendage retracts. The camera then switches to a view above the floor, showing the Luring Slurker slowly descending from above, with some spins and clasps.
