The Space Float (スペースフロート?, lit.: "Space Float") is a ship part in Pikmin. It allows someone to stay adrift in space if their ship is shot out from under them. Olimar says he always carries it around in case of an emergency. This part can be found in The Forest Navel, inside a Breadbug. After being collected, this ship part does not change the S.S. Dolphin's appearance.

Collecting the part[edit]

Initial location of the Space Float in The Forest Navel. Note that the Breadbug with the part can roam the entire area and will drop the part wherever it is defeated, and this is just the location where it spawns.

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

The Space Float is found in the stomach of a Breadbug. Defeating the Breadbug will make it drop the part. The easiest way to obtain it is to get the Breadbug to pull a lightweight item, such as a pellet or Shearwig carcass, then throw as many Pikmin as possible onto the item, which will slowly drag it towards the Onion. Once it reaches the Onion, the Breadbug will lose almost all of its health. The rest can be depleted by throwing Pikmin precisely on top, or by getting it to carry another item and dragging that to the Onion too. Upon being defeated, the Breadbug will drop the part. Note: If an Onion discovery cutscene or a part collection cutscene plays, the Breadbug will let go of what it's carrying.

Notes

Olimar's monologs

Thank goodness! My Space Float!

This float is an absolute necessity for any pilot who lacks skill at swimming in space.

An excellent swimmer like me has no need for something like this, but my motto is "always be prepared." Really. It's just for emergencies.
