The Pyroclasmic Slooch is a new enemy in Pikmin 3. They are slug-like creatures that leave a trail of fire, and must be handled with Red Pikmin, though tossing Rock Pikmin at it and calling them back so they don't burn works as well.
They appear to be black, with stripes of red looping around their body. They have two antennae near the top of their cone shaped bodies. The Pyroclasmic Slooch also leaves a trail of combustable slime that coats their bodies as well. The slime leaves the Slooch when killed, causing it to shrink considerably.
