Emergence Cave is the first cave you will ever enter, and has the treasure that you need to move on. This cave is extremely easy, and shouldn't take you very long even if you aren't very skilled.
Past the large field where a Red Bulborb lies, you need to destroy a white gate, beyond which lies the cave.

Sublevel 1
The first sublevel of this cave is very easy. The two treasures are only guarded by a few Snow Bulborbs, which are easily killed by swarming or throwing Pikmin on top. Defeat them, then return Citrus Lump and Quenching Emblem to the Research Pod.
Sublevel 2 (Final Floor)
Move along the path with your Pikmin, ignoring the globe half and defeating the Snow Bulborbs along the way. At the end, in a last room, there are two Violet Candypop Buds. Throw five of your Red Pikmin into each flower to receive 10 Pikmin seeds; pluck them, and you'll get your very first Purple Pikmin. Return to the Spherical Atlas at the start of the sublevel and swarm your Pikmin onto it; once you get it, you'll unlock the Sphere Chart, an item allowing you to travel to the Awakening Wood.
It is possible to obtain more Purple Pikmin on this day by leaving the cave without collecting the treasure and then returning to it. Because the Candypop Buds disappear only after you have 20 purples already, three trips of 10, 9 and 10 make the maximum 29 from this cave.
