Revision as of 00:47, November 20, 2024 by Odayaka (talk | contribs) (Major reformatting. Removed pretty much all of the locations for events and other promotions that Special Spots appeared during, as it is very unorganized, hard to read, outdated, hard to keep updated, and pretty much useless. Removed the history section and mentioned the one entry that was in the table in the opening paragraph. Removed the gallery section because the images used were not related to Special Spots, and rather were just used to show Present Sticker (Gold) Decor Pikmin.)

A Special Spot, with its new appearance in version 56.0.
A Special Spot.

Special Spots are points of interest in Pikmin Bloom that are marked with a special rainbow bud flower. These points of interest are placed at specific locations as part of brand sponsorships. Special Spots were fully added to the game on September 29th, 2022, originally featuring the design of a small always-bloomed flower with the brand logo visible in the center of the flower. Their design was updated to the one used now in the 56.0 update.

Mechanics

Special Spots appear at defined locations on the map. They have a small circle on the ground surrounding them, and this circle can vary in size. If the player is inside the radius, the flower will glow and it will be possible to receive rewards from it; otherwise the flower will not glow.

Tapping on a Special Spot will open an information screen about it, with a brand logo appearing on the flower's bulb. Swiping down on the flower when it is glowing will make it drop a Gold Seedling, sometimes along with nectar of a predetermined type and color. The type of Decor Pikmin this seedling grows into depends on the Special Spot, as does the frequency at which players can get the Seedlings and the maximum amount of Seedlings a Special Spot can give.[1]

Locations

Special Spots have appeared at a variety of live events and as part of other promotions. The rewards from these Special Spots have all been unique to the event or promotion they appeared for.

In addition to Special Spots appearing during events, there are permanent Special Spots at select locations. These locations include:

  • Nintendo's flagship stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and New York City. The Gold Seedling that is rewarded grows into Red, Yellow or Blue Present Sticker (Gold) Decor Pikmin, with the Text "Nintendo (location) 20xx-××-×× (date you received the seedling)". Only 1 Gold Seedling can be obtained from each Special Spot per month.
    • The Gold Seedlings provided by the Special Spots at Nintendo stores used to grow into Blue Mario Hat Decor Pikmin until October 17th, 2023, when the Kyoto store opened.
  • The Nintendo Museum. When the Special Spot there is interacted with, two Gold Seedlings are rewarded. The first Gold Seedling grows into Red, Yellow or Blue Present Sticker (Gold) Decor Pikmin, with the Text "Nintendo Museum 20xx-××-×× (date you received the seedling)". The second Gold Seedling grows into a Red Flower Card Decor Pikmin with the name “Nintendo” written in Japanese characters on it. These Gold Seedlings can only be obtained from the Special Spot once per month.[2]
  • Meiji Park in Tokyo, as part of the “Niantic Park” project. The Gold Seedling that is rewarded grows into Red, Yellow or Blue Present Sticker (Gold) Decor Pikmin, with the Text "Niantic Park 20xx-××-×× (date you received the seedling)". Only 1 Gold Seedling can be obtained from the Special Spot per month.[3]
