#2 Ionium Jet

This article is about the ship part in The Distant Spring. For the one in The Forest Navel, see #1 Ionium Jet.

The #2 Ionium Jet (イオニウムジェット2?, lit.: "Ionium Jet 2") is a ship part in Pikmin. It probably provides a slight boost, as Olimar states, but it could easily be used for smoother flying and quicker turns. Like the #1 Ionium Jet, this is needed for the Dolphin to propel itself through deep space. In Pikmin 2, the Massage Girdle is in its place. Once recovered, this Ionium Jet is installed on the port side of the ship's hull, level with the main hatch (it is to the back and left of Captain Olimar when he is seated).

Although there is no part with this name in Olimar's Shipwreck Tale in Pikmin 4, the Ionium Jet in the Blossoming Arcadia is analogous to the #2 Jet in appearance and function.

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

The ship part is on a stone platform in the far north of the area. To retrieve it, first throw at least 15 Blue Pikmin onto the platform to the west of it, and use the nearby geyser to reunite with them. Then simply throw them across the gap to the Jet. The eastern path back to the ship includes Water Dumples, Puffy Blowhogs, Spotty Bulbears, and (if after day 15) Dwarf Bulbears, while the western path has Water Dumples, Yellow Wollywogs, Spotty Bulbears, and (if before day 16) a Puffy Blowhog. Assuming they take the eastern path back to the Dolphin, Blue Pikmin will carry the part through a shortcut in the water, thus avoiding the three sleeping Bulbears on the way.

Notes

Olimar's monologs

I've found my #2 Ionium Jet!

It's easy on the eyes, and its fuel efficiency is easy on the budget.

The ads for these jets boast that "with excellent mileage that's easy on the family budget, this jet will keep your wife smiling and propel you to a happy home life!"
