Hipo, the problem I have with your revision is not that I don't like the strategy, but it's basically the exact same thing that's there already. If there's a difference in the two strategies which I'm missing, then you're free to rewrite the old one (at least, you're not going to get any complaints from me, though chances are I'm going to want to tweak it, but that's nothing personal), but I just don't think we need multiple strategies which are identical except for a few tiny differences. You seem to have a lot of confidence in it, so I'm guessing you believe it works better than the other one. —Jimbo Jambo

The old one is use a LOT of pikmin, and try to kill it off before it lifts off. My strategy is, using a small group of easily manageable pikmin, throw all of them on the wollywog, before it takes off. You WANT it to take off. i.e., the pikmin are attacking while the wollywogs in the air. the moment it starts to fall back to ground, you call your pikmin back. and repeat a few times. This is the SAFEST way to kill it without losing pikmin. IAMAHIPO_ocolor 18:36, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, fine; add that, then remove what it says in the other paragraph higher up. That's all JJ's suggesting.GP

Name?

Shouldn't we change the name of this article to "wollyhop"? Ridly Roar! 00:19, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

What? Why should we, they are called Wollywogs. Last Onion
I think it was a vandal we weren't smart eungth to figure out--File:Large pixal snowy bulborb.PNGYuki no Bulborb

I think your right. A member named C-Rex did it, and I've never seen him before. Ridly Roar! 09:36, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

They're called Wollywogs in pikmin 2 and 1. Wollyhops just sounds silly if you ask me. But then again, so does Wollywog.Banjobug 22:16, May 9, 2010 (UTC)Banjobug

Differences Between Wollywog and Yellow Wollywogs Attack?

Is there any difference between the Yellow Wollywog's jump and the Wollywog's jump? For instance, the maximum number of Pikmin that can be killed in one jump and how long it takes for it to land. File:All.jpgPikminFile:Hairybulborb.jpg1254File:Specialpikmin.JPG

I haven't noticed anything in Pikmin 1, but I get the feeling that normal Wollywogs are more likely to kill Pikmin in Pikmin 2.--Prezintenden
I agree with the above. For some reason they are a lot harder to fight then the yellow onesBanjobug 22:16, May 9, 2010 (UTC)Banjobug
Nothing besides higher heatlh. They may be a little faster, though. Twinmold.pngSnakeboss14Twinmold.png

Whenever I encounter Wollywogs, I always feel White Wollywogs fall faster, or that Yellow Wollywogs have a larger range (it will follow you further)but that might be because I'm rubbish at fighting Wollywogs. Loafy the Breadbug

I think we really need to verify maximum kills now for each creature. Maybe if we do it will show us the difference between white and yellow Wollywogs. Artwork of a Breadbug. Loafy the Breadbug Artwork of a Breadbug.

I'm guessing that their maximum kill is 100, if all the Pikmin are gathered into one spot. Vol (Talk)

I don't think its that much, about 20 in Pikmin 1 and 12 in Pikmin 2--90.195.241.211 14:18, 14 April 2011 (EDT) (Loafy the Breadbug)

Forgot to mention that I'll check all of this out soon. {EspyoT} 18:32, 14 April 2011 (EDT)

Ok, I'm too lazy to check both games, both enemies, and I'm currently sick (again). I'll just add a ToDo note so this research isn't forgotten. {EspyoT} 18:37, 15 April 2011 (EDT)

Change to Wollyhop

Personally, I think we should just change the name to Wollyhops already. They were called that in the most recent Pikmin game (New Play Control: Pikmin 2), so the article should use the most recent official name. Just because that remake wasn't released in America, or that you don't like the name, it doesn't change the fact that Nintendo refers to them as Wollyhops now, and if they return in Pikmin 3, they are almost guaranteed to use that name. Calling the page Wollywog is living in the past, and it could do to update. ToastUltimatum 14:41, 20 July 2011 (EDT)

I believe most of us have a different opinion. That's not to say you're wrong, no. You see, it's been called Wollywog in every game except for the most recent release. And we can't know for sure if the change to "Wollyhop" is on purpose, or forced. Don't worry, we'll wait for Pikmin 3 to give us an answer (probably). Not to mention that most people know it as Wollywog, not Wollyhop. So, at least for now, the article's name probably won't change. {EspyoT} 14:59, 20 July 2011 (EDT)
I see your point, but I'm also for leaving it as it is, since
  • the number of games in circulation using 'Wollywog' is greater;
  • the new games are remakes, not new games, so meh;
  • it would introduce a lot of inconsistency throughout the wiki, given the number of existing uses of 'Wollywog' - we really don't want to have to do 'Wollywog/Wollyhop' everywhere. GP 16:35, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

Scientific Name

I know some Latin, and I am pretty sure that albati means white in said language, not albino. If anyone could give clarification, I would like to include this "error" in its scientific name in the trivia. Please clarify. --Itsa me! Louie G. 17:31, 4 June 2012 (EDT)
