The President
President of Hocotate Freight
The President is the owner of Hocotate Freight, and is featured in Pikmin 2. He runs into financial trouble after Louie, a new employee, shipping a supply of the very valuable golden Pikpik carrots, was apparently attacked by a ravenous space bunny who is said to have devoured the entire cargo of carrots (although this is just a lie to cover up what really happened). The President took out a large loan to reimberce the loss of the Golden Pikpik carrots, and has no way of repaying the enormous debt! He sold off the only company asset, Captain Olimar's ship, the S.S. Dolphin, in Olimar's absence, but it only made a dent in the enormous loan, as he still owes 10,100 Pokos. When Captain Olimar returns to Hocotate after the events of Pikmin, he is so surprised by the news the President gives him that he drops a sovenier that he brough back from his "vacation" for his son, a bottle cap (worth 100 pokos), and makes the debt an even 10,000. The President will be the main source of mail before you erase the debt, his news getting worse as he finds out that the loan agent he actually got was the Black Hole All-Devouring Loan Sharks, as opposed to Happy Hocotate Savings and Loan, and goes into hiding.
After you erase the debt, Louie accidentally falls out of the ship, and the president goes to help you find him. He becomes a playable character after that, and takes Louie's place as a leader. He is called Shacho in the Japanese version (shacho is Japenese for president) and is often called by that name as he says it when you switch to his character (although it's commonly mistaken as Schyaco, Syecho, etc).
