Scornets are bee-like creatures in Pikmin 3 that are lead by the Scornet Maestro.
These enemies are capable of making coordinated formations that are capable of capturing and eventually killing your Pikmin swarm, by picking up your Pikmin, and then flying around the Scornet Maestro, which you can free by throwing a Pikmin at them, or the Pikmin will quickly die.
Killing Strategy
Using ground based Pikmin is practically useless. The best way to defeat a swarm is to use large amounts of Winged Pikmin in order to outnumber them. These enemies look similar to the Scornet Maestro which controls them using its harp-like beak.
