New Play Control!
The Play on the Wii (previously called Let's Play On Wii) range of video games is a collection of GameCube titles ported to the Nintendo Wii, with their controls altered for play on the newer console. During a Nintendo press conference in October 2008, the range was announced, along with the details that it will include the two Pikmin games.[1] On November 1st, the re-release of Pikmin in North America was confirmed.[2] It has since been announced that the release date for Pikmin in Japan is 25th December, 2008.[3] Currently, Pikmin 2's re-release is expected to arrive in 2009.
Changes that will be made to Pikmin 1 and, presumably, its sequel, include a new control scheme that allows control of the cursor by pointing at the screen[4], improved graphics and an updated save system[5]. This allows players to restart play from any previous day.
