The Analog Computer is a rocket part for the S.S. Dolphin in Pikmin. This part is found in a puddle near fire geysers in The Forest Navel. It works with the ship's regular computer to make the computer smarter and gives it emotional complexity, making it quick to anger with an attitude. It holds the kind of vague data that falls outside of the ones and zeros range. Because Olimar says this, many players mistake this piece for an optional ship part, but it is mandatory. Captain Olimar compares this part to his boss.

Notes

Discovery Notes

"I've found my Analog Computer! This computer conveys the kind of vague data that falls outside the range of ones and zeros. Actually, to be honest, it's a little bit too vague, so it isn't very helpful."

Ship Log

"This strengthens the outward emotions of the Dolphin's computer. While it does make the computer smart, it also makes it quick to anger. It's just like my boss."

Collecting the part

The Analog Computer, sitting in the puddle it is found in.

To get it, Blue Pikmin are needed to get it out of the puddle and Red Pikmin to get it out of the fire geysers area. It is to the far end of the trail where the Libra can also be found. It is possible to collect this part with only twenty Pikmin due to the Crimson Candypop Bud on the plateau near the ship part. Sometimes an Iridescent Flint Beetle can appear from under it when it is lifted.

Trivia

  • In real life, an Analog computer is a form of computer which utilizes continuously-changeable aspects of physical phonema to model out problems.
  • The Analog Computer can be seen in the Enemy Reel while showing the Wollywogs. However, it is where the Anti-Dioxin Filter is found.
  • Olimar's notes about the Analog Computer mention his boss, The President, as being one quick to anger. However, in Pikmin 2, he doesn't seem that way. Although, he could be talking about some other boss, or he's being sarcastic.
