At the moment, the only things that are known about the KopPad are that every captain possesses one, and that it can be used to communicate between them, as well as to examine the [[area]]'s map. Scattered throughout the various areas in ''Pikmin 3'' are golden data files called "Exploration Notes", which provide information to the players on the GamePad about various subjects. Players can view at all the Exploration Notes they have collected using the GamePad.
