I've noticed lately, that ever since Pikmin 3 was shown at E3, tons of IPs have been adding unwanted information. My guess is this'll eventually die off, but in the meantime, I suggest locking the wiki from all anonymous users. I know it sounds a bit harsh, but if we don't want these naive IPs to add/edit Pikmin 3 info, then we should probably lock the wiki. Thoughts? ~PikFan23

We discussed this on the IRC; we couldn't lock it at the time because Prez wasn't around. Still think it's a good idea, but if it can't be easily done (read: Prez can't easily come here to do that), I say leave it unlocked. Reverting is easy, and when a dumb anon sees their edit reverted, they'll soon realize that if you want to actually help, first let your IQ grow to at least 2 digits. — {Espyo^T} 07:26, 11 June 2012 (EDT)

This is hardly a problem, really, it's just a few edits, comparatively. No reason to lock the whole thing. I actually wouldn't mind it much as all usable edits are from registered users, but it's still a matter of principles. I'll just check more often, starting now.--Prezintenden

Um...Espyo means Porple, not Prez. And I said pretty much the same as you - that there really aren't that many edits; locking it all down is a measure you take when you can't actually handle the number of edits. GP 18:20, 11 June 2012 (EDT)

Oh, okay. I think I kind of exaggerated the number of anons editing, and yes, it is quite easy to revert such edits. I realise now that we don't need to go to such extremes as locking the entire wiki, but maybe some pages could be protected, because there are, again, some naive anons out there who have just learned about Pikmin 3 info and think everybody else does too. (Also, Espyo, I really like your statement on an anon's IQ - but some are persistent.) So, maybe... I guess for right now, we can simply revert edits. Agree? ~PikFan23

Yes. And Pikmin 3 is protected against anonymous edits (and has been for years). Not that that stops them editing all kinds of crazy pages with random things... GP 18:49, 11 June 2012 (EDT)
