<s>The concept of "beta" and "alpha" during the development of a game is rather subjective. Some developers may call "beta" a stage in which the game is close to the finish product, whereas others consider it a stage in which the game is barely playable. Additionally, we can't know for sure at which point in the game's development was an aspect included, removed or changed.
As such, the usage of these 2 words, unless strictly confirmed, should be avoided. Please [http://www.pikminwiki.com/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&redirs=0&search=Beta&fulltext=Search&ns0=1 search for "beta"], and remove every trace of it, replacing it with "unused", "prototype" or "early", whichever fits the case better. Most of the time, you'll want to refer to "an earlier version of" the game, a model, etc.</s>

This is a list of ongoing projects at the Pikipedia that we could do with some help on. To request that other projects be undertaken, please leave a comment on the talk page. When a project has been completed, its section can be removed from this page. See also Category:Articles with things to do.

Main projects

Max deaths

A new attribute has been added to the enemies' infoboxes: max deaths. This is the maximum number of Pikmin that can die in a single attack. However, almost all enemy pages lack info on this subject. We must observe every attack of every enemy, on both games, and write how many Pikmin can die in a single blow, if any. As discussed here, some values should be gathered first, and then their place will be later decided. As of now, Espyo will host a list.

Cave infobox images

The cave's infoboxes all have the same image: File:Cave entrance.jpg. As discussed here, all infoboxes should have a screenshot of the cave's most notable floor.

Monolog and Ship Log notes

Some enemy pages have notes. These are the notes that appear in the enemy reel, the cooking notes, and Olimar's notes. However, in Pikmin, there are still notes about Olimar's monologues and Ship Log entries. We must create a subpage "/monologue" for every article relating to something Olimar has monologued about in Pikmin. Additionally, we must create "/log" pages, as the Voyage Log info on some articles is hardcoded into the article, and should instead be written with Template:notes.

Game names

Some instances of the names Pikmin and Pikmin 2 are formatted and named incorrectly. In other words, there are still some articles out there that call the first game "Pikmin 1". There are two things that need to be done. Every time the first game is referred, it shouldn't contain the number 1. And every time either game is mentioned, its name should be italicized. These changes should not break the policies, though.

Additionally, when referring to the series, Pikmin must still be italicized.

Walkthroughs

Some articles about enemies, caves and Challenge Mode levels don't have a strategy/walkthrough section. The articles that do have one aren't coherent. Some of them have the strategies in a section on the bottom, others have the strategy hidden within the regular description text; some call the reader "you" and provide walkthroughs, others use the term "the player" and explain strategies in a more general way... A consistent style for these must be discussed sometime in the future.

Treasures

Most treasure articles still lack proper information as to the location and collection of the treasure. A list of treasure articles can be found at Treasure Hoard or Template:Treasures.

2-player battle locations

Most are short. The pages need data (enemy list, hazard list, Pellet Posy list), descriptions (possible layouts, marble and onion locations, where cherries tend to land) and level-specific strategies. Find a list here.

Smaller projects

  • For pages that have a "Brawl trophy" section, we should rename it to "Brawl trophy description". It looks better that way.
  • Images require, for the most part, vastly improved descriptions. These do not have to be long or detailed, but concise and accurate, just a sentence about what the image is of, probably with a link to its subject if there's an article on it.
