# (Nominator:) The general idea of this one is to have people think about how they tackle problems in the game. It is fairly vague with answers, so suggestions would be helpful. I was inspired when I wondered what it would be like if I had only reds, blues, or even ices. How would my adventure be? * I like this question, but I'm not sure if it would work too well. First off, the three-type limit of Pikmin 4, as well as the differing types between games anyway, would cause this question some trouble. Readers might wonder which game it refers to, considering that some of these options simply aren't possible in the most recent entry of the series. We'd probably have to choose a single game to ask this about, but I don't see a clear one to pick. 1 has less types and 4 obviously has the limit, so those are less viable, but 2 and 3 both have a solid 5 available, with only fairly moderate differences between them. Still, which to choose I wouldn't be able to decide, and I do feel as though we'd be missing out, considering that 4 has more types than any other game. Maybe it'd be interesting to see this done for Pikmin 2, considering that Purples and Whites are rarer than the others, and are all found early on enough where people would have to make this decision in any single playthrough enough times to formulate an opinion? But if we chose any single game, wouldn't that be a bit random-seeming?<br>Sorry if this is a tad scatterbrained. I like this question a fair bit but simultaneously have not much of an idea how to implement it. I often play by planning out exactly what Pikmin types to bring but also sometimes just bring 20 of each type, so I do think this could be an interesting question to think about if the name was changed to ask which squad format you opt for most commonly, among the other suggested changes.<br>I think, if we were to ask, "Which Pikmin squad makeup do you most often choose take with you before a day in Pikmin 2?" (we'd probably edit that to make it a little less wordy or make more sense, but that's at least the premise of my naming suggestion), and then made one option about a planned strategy ("what the wiki suggests", or what I've decided to use for the task I've planned), one about equal quantities of each type ("a full mixture"), your favourite Pikmin type (combination of "what you think is the most useful" and "your favorite Pikmin", as they are fairly similar, at least with how I've interpreted them), possibly one about choosing the ones you have the most of, as that's why I am styling this on Pikmin 2 in general - it'd be interesting to see if it's common for people to avoid using the Candypop types out of fear of losing them - and then maybe one about going with your gut, or any other valid choice that comes to mind; I think if we were to ask that question with those options, then it'd be a fairly well-formatted poll that gives anyone who has played Pikmin 2 something entertaining and interesting to think about, which, at least from what I gather, is the goal of the wiki's polls in general.<br>Oh, I just remembered that you can change the Pikmin you start with, of course, so this should probably explicitly mention that it's talking about the beginning of the day, no?<br>Overall, I like this idea a lot, as it is an interesting thing I think about and seeing the general public's opinion would be pretty nice, so I've tried (probably a bit too hard) to format it in a way that works. Of course, there are probably still some quirks that should be ironed out, but that's my opinion on the poll. I'd love to get some more opinions or feedback on this, if anyone has anything in mind. * | ** I agree that changing the question to be about the start of the day is a good idea; perhaps it could be "What types of Pikmin do you like to take out of the Onion at the start of the day?". I don't think this poll needs to be about a specific game, as the strategies for choosing types are fairly similar in each game. I interpret "What you think is the most useful" to be more about choosing the types that are likely to be the most useful for the tasks in that day, while I interpret "Your favorite Pikmin" to be more about favorite types in general, so I think it's useful to have both options, but perhaps they could be reworded to make them more clearly distinct. — Soprano(talk) 04:14, March 19, 2025 (EDT)
* I think some of the options in this could be reworded slightly. I'd change "Whatever the game/wiki suggests" to "Whatever the game or wiki suggests", and "What you think is the most useful" to "What you think will be the most useful". I also wonder whether there could be more options. — Soprano(talk) 04:14, March 19, 2025 (EDT)
