It has been 7 years since pikmin 2. There isn't very much we can do at all to improve anything. I suggest that we lock all pages until something new develops. I mean, besides the community here, there isn't really much to do. All we are doing now, it seems, is reverting trolls/idiots and making insignificant changes. It is, in a sense, ''perfect''. At least lock the creatures/maps/characters/etc. So that people only work on the formats, which (idk) might need improvments. Of course if any new developments come up (like the map info of P1) someone could unlock the articles. IDK. Also, hi yall :D {{User:IAMAHIPO_ocolor/ | It has been 7 years since pikmin 2. It is, in a sense, perfect. At least lock the creatures/maps/characters/etc. So that people only work on the formats, which (idk) might need improvments. Of course if any new developments come up (like the map info of P1) someone could unlock the articles. IDK. Also, hi yall :D IAMAHIPO_ocolor 19:21, 24 April 2011 (EDT)
- Welcome back. (I think?) That might not be a good idea. I mean, the wiki is far from dead. Although some of the edits are just minor fixes, we still have some big projects going on. Besides, Pikmin 3 is knocking on the door. Locking the important articles would have no use really, they're not vandalized, and just because no more info needs to be added to them for now, doesn't mean they should be locked. The goal of a wiki is to give free editing rights to everyone (not exactly, but you know what I mean), not "give rights to edit, except those pages that... meh". And locking and unlocking articles because new info shows up isn't very practical... {EspyoT} 19:49, 24 April 2011 (EDT)
I agree. This Wiki is not perfect by any means (I like to think it's close), so lock it we shall not. Not that I can really decide that, but... Ridly Skree! 20:07, 24 April 2011 (EDT)
- Not going to happen. Some edits spark a discussion that reveals something about the game. It's usually minor, but even 'stupid' edits will often force us to double check and find something we didn't expect (can't give you an example really; maybe the buried-larva-stun thing just now?). Plus, denying newcomers access to editing will usually make them feel unwanted, and some of them might decide to stay a while and become better writers. We're not exactly over-capacity with the vandals, even though they do seem to come in 'tides' now and then. It's just too radical a step for such small nuisances.--Prezintenden
That means the Vandals won't be able to edit them (UNLESS ITS A HACK), but shouldn't we NOT lock the pages? What if a user wants to add something? Like...when I fixed the incorrect spelling on the Forest Navel page! I heard Pikmin 3 will come out October, November, or December this year, so we should unlock all the pages when it heads into those months, don't you agree? ~Cheepy-Cheep
