I started a discussion about splitting the article in the server, but this talk page would have been a better place for that. In the discussion on the server I said that the article didn't really need to be split, as the table structure makes it easier to read than a long article filled with paragraphs. Loading times also aren't as much of an issue because the page doesn't have many images. But now that you've made a mockup of what a split article would look like, I think it might be a good idea. If we split the article, I think using subpages would be a good way to name the comic list pages, such as "Pikmin comic/Issues 1 to 100" (the name used in the mockup), but there could be other ways to name the articles. — Soprano(talk) 19:36, June 22, 2024 (EDT) | ::The Discord server is a more convenient place for small discussions, but it can sometimes be difficult to tell what's a small discussion that can be done on the server, and what's a larger discussion that should be done on the wiki. :After updating the remaining links, the "final" size of the page is 151,514 bytes, which is only ~9,000 more than Music in Pikmin 2, which lies at 142,700 bytes. The latter page is full of paragraphs of text and music samples, along with quite a lot of external links and a table with icons. If we're saying that large articles should be split, this is a prime candidate for that, as it's a page that could take a long time to load on slower devices. I'm not saying we should split it, but we could. Just like with this page, it can be split, but is it really necessary? In my opinion, it'll make the whole process of finding a comic a lot more convoluted than it needs to be. I think the page is fine as it is now, and splitting it is unnecessary. Splitting the table into months?
As this comic continues to update daily (and every three days for the English counterpart), it's becoming a bit of a hassle to deal with a single, massive table. I propose splitting it up into individual months, sorted by the comics' initial Japanese release date. So, there'd be a section for all of June's comics, then July's, then August's, and so on until whenever the comic stops receiving new strips.
"Seeds of Wisdom" might present a bit of a problem as it was released in English first and might cause confusion in this proposed page reorganization. However, I think it's much better than choosing the English dates, mainly because of the sheer amount of untranslated strips that the Wiki would have to organize... somewhere. What do you guys think? Groinker (talk) 19:58, December 7, 2023 (EST)
- Sounds like a good idea. The large number of strips in this series already makes a single table too impractical to read and edit. CortexCPU242 (talk) 01:26, December 8, 2023 (EST)
- I think that's a fine thing to do, having separate tables for each month and using the Japanese dates as the primary dates instead of the English ones. While it could be confusing, it's definitely more practical than the current situation. — Soprano(talk) 03:26, December 8, 2023 (EST)

Page length
This page is currently 165 506 bytes long, or 165 kB. It's not likely to grow much longer since the comic has ended, but I hope we can agree that this is too long to browse comfortably even as a set of 7 tables. Loading 165 kB also creates problems for some people with slow connections or limits on how much data they can use. Maybe we could split it into subpages with titles like List of Pikmin comic issues (1-100) or something similar? CortexCPU242 (talk) 05:04, June 21, 2024 (EDT)
- I fully agree with this notion (I was planning to suggest it when I woke up, actually) and that the list of comics should be split up into 100-issue subpages like the Merchandise page. For example, the first 100 issues could be "List of Pikmin comic issues/1 to 100". Groinker (talk) 15:02, June 21, 2024 (EDT)
- Alright, I've made a mockup of what the first 100-issue subpage would look like here, as well as the corresponding section that would be on the main page. If there's anything that should be changed, let me know. Groinker (talk) 15:27, June 21, 2024 (EDT)
- Unless there's some reason you don't want to use the platform, you two should join the discord server. We've been discussing this since the comic ended, and most people there have agreed that we shouldn't do it. It'd be easier to continue the conversation there, otherwise, I guess everyone can just do their best to relay messages between there and this talk page. SupremeKirb (talk) 06:27, June 22, 2024 (EDT)
- You can't expect every editor to keep track of a Discord channel. I already have a hard time keeping track of changes on the multiple wikis that I edit and the multiple Discord channels that get new messages 24/7. In addition to real news and a sometimes hectic personal life. CortexCPU242 (talk) 09:00, June 22, 2024 (EDT)
- To summarise what was said in the Discord, we came to the conclusion that the page should not be split into multiple pages. The arguments against it were that it is the 2nd largest page on the wiki, and after the Event page is split, it'll be the largest. The reason why we don't want massive pages on the wiki is due to them being hard to navigate, but since this page is literally just several tables, it's quite easy to navigate and load, unlike Event. — {Kiwii(talk)} 19:29, June 22, 2024 (EDT)
