The following article or section is in need of assistance from someone who plays Pikmin 4. |
Missions are objectives for the player's character to complete throughout Pikmin 4. These are given by either Rescue Corps members or by rescued castaways, typically within the Rescue Command Post hub area once they've been rescued.
There are two types of missions: Main Missions and Side Missions.
Main Missions
Main Missions are the main objectives the player must complete. They are usually story related with simple goals requiring the player to progress through the game normally to complete. These are often given by members of the Rescue Corps.
This section is a stub. You can help Pikipedia by expanding it. |
Name | Mission giver | In-game description | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Rescue the Rescue Corps | No one | “Following emergency protocol, all officers were directed to evacuate the spaceship immediately. Finding the dispersed Rescue Corps is now your top priority!” | You only see this mission once you’ve beaten the tutorial with Captain Olimar and just before the character creation menu. |
Rescue the Rescue Corps | Collin | “The SOS signals we discovered must be coming from our Rescue Officers. Come talk to me as soon as you’re ready.” | The image updates as you rescue each member of the Rescue Corps, at the end of day 1 there will be 3 members on it: Oatchi, Collin and Shepherd |
Rescue the Rescue Corps | Collin | “You found Russ, the Rescue Corps’s talented scientist! Keep searching for the rest of the Rescue Officers.” | The image now shows Russ and updates when he is rescued. |
Secure Energy Source | Shepherd | Apparently sparkly objects can be used as an energy source. Locate as many as you can so you can restart the S.S. Shepherd! | This is when the bar has 0 sparklium acquired. |
Secure Energy Source | Shepherd | “If we’re going to restore the S.S. Shepherd’s radar and expand our search area, we need you to go out and gather more sparklium!” | This mission comes with a bar tallying all the Sparklium found and the amount needed to expand the search area of the S.S. Shepherd. |
Rescue Olimar | Shepherd | “Captain Olimar is shipwrecked on this unknown planet. Discover his whereabouts while you search for missing Rescue Corps Officers.” | Unlocks right after the Day 2 cutscene. |
Rescue All Castaways | Shepherd | This mission comes with a counter that keeps track of the player's castaway count (not including members of the Rescue Corps). |
Olimar's Shipwreck Tale
Olimar's Shipwreck Tale contains the single mission Escape Planet. It is divided into four levels with the objectives of recovering 2, 8, 23 and finally 30 ship parts for the S.S. Dolphin. The first three coincide with the unlocking of the Blossoming Arcadia, Serene Shores and Hero's Hideaway respectively.
Side Missions
Side Missions are objectives that aren't necessary to complete, but reward the player with things like raw materials for doing so. These are often given to the player after talking to rescued crewmates and castaways in the Rescue Command Post. Other quests are only unlocked once the player has completed a previous quest first.
