It doesn't spit acidic body fluid! or else the acid would kill ANY type of pikmin! NIN10DUDE

"When attacked by enemies, the Caustic Dweevil spits out bodily fluids in response. Space suits corrode and oxidize when they come into contact with this highly acidic liquid."
From Olimar's notes. I know what you mean, but it's kind of hard to argue with that. —Jimbo Jambo 05:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

good point. can't argue with the games facts... NIN10DUDE

Still there is my theory of blue pikmin having a chemical on there skin that protects them from certain acids.--Prof. 02:48, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

That's possbible. It may even be that all Pikmin have that trait, and that it somehow helps them survive, since other types of Pikmin drown before we can actually witness them being dissolved, and I can't really image why Blues would need such a defense and other Pikmin wouldn't. Unfortunately I'm no expert on corrosive chemicals and their role in biology, but it might even be that captains' metal spacesuits are simply more vulnerable to corrosion by acid than Pikmin skin is. —Jimbo Jambo 19:19, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, if im correct, stomach acid is a chemical itself and is unique to each species that uses it.--Prof. 19:26, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, corrosive acid is semi-rare in nature... and yes Prof. Stomach Acid is a chemical... I'm ~LonelyRedpikminsprite.jpgTurret~ And I approve this message.

Due to the recent plaugeurism, I am watching this page until it is no longer a featured/targeted article. BTW water causes metal to oxidize, with is why Olimar thought it was an acid. Ridly Roar! 23:13, 6 April 2009 (UTC) Also, water with salt in it speeds the prosses of oxidation up.Ridly Roar! 11:02, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

But metal rusts SLOWLY, not within several seconds. (If it was like that, Olimar would need a raft in the perplexing pool)--Prof. 20:19, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
