The Zest Bomb (カボストニタリヨタリ?, lit.: "Just Like a Kabosu") is a lime found in Pikmin 3. In story mode, it gives 1 and a half bottles of juice (three-fourths in Ultra-Spicy mode). The Zest Bomb can be found in the Tropical Wilds, the Garden of Hope, and the Distant Tundra. The fruit is also seen many times throughout Mission Mode, and will give 70 Pokos if returned to the SPERO. They also appear as items in certain Bingo Battle stages, where they function like any ordinary item.

Collecting the fruit

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

Tropical Wilds

The fruit is held inside a Peckish Aristocrab located in the large, shallow body of water filled with Yellow Wollywogs and with nearby Fiery Blowhogs. Killing the Aristocrab gives the fruit. Since the crab is in the water, it is recommended to use the bomb rock method of killing it, as Rock Pikmin cannot traverse through water. Although Winged or Blue Pikmin will usually be needed to retrieve the fruit, the Aristocrab can be lured far enough out of the water to drop it on dry land once it dies.

Garden of Hope

The Zest Bomb found in Garden of Hope.

Near the path to the Armored Mawdad's arena is a side area with two sets of elevator platforms. The first set is rather simple, and the Zest Bomb is on a cliff near the platforms. To obtain it, first throw a Pikmin onto one of the two platforms, weighing it down. Next, throw a leader and five Pikmin onto the lower platform. On the opposite platform, throw 7 Pikmin on it to rise the other leader up. From there, the fruit is within easy reach.

Distant Tundra

The fruit is within reach from the landing site, but it is recommended that you have rescued Charlie. After you do, throw 2 leaders over to the area where the Dodge Whistle is. To the far left of the cliff is a Bouncy Mushroom. Proceed to throw a leader and a good amount of Yellow Pikmin over to it. Afterwards, the leader will be on a higher up area near the landing site with 2 Bearded Amprats and a Citrus Lump. Kill the creatures and proceed to have the Pikmin work on assembling a slope with the nearby stack of hay. Now, with the slope complete, the fruit is able to be reached. Be warned, as an Arctic Cannon Larva will shoot snowballs to prevent you from climbing up the hill. At the top lies a Zest Bomb encased in a crystal. If you have not rescued Charlie, Rock Pikmin can be thrown from the ledge below. After killing the Arctic Cannon Larva, they will start breaking the crystal and can carry the fruit back to the ship.

Notes

Brittany's notes

This one's sour but smells really nice. I wonder if the juice would work as a deodorant? I also wonder if we can spare a little for the experiment? Finally, I wonder if the captain would notice if I doused him in it while his back was turned?

Trivia

The result of combining Juicy Gaggle and Zest Bomb juice.
  • If the player obtains a Zest Bomb and a Juicy Gaggle consecutively such that both juices are combined into the same bottle, the result will be an odd cyan color, as explained here.
