Could someone upload this? It's the overworld map in the NPC Pikmin 1 game. I would but my computer's broken so im using my Nintendo Wii... RWAR! ~JOSHAFile:Gozira.PNGZILLA!!!~ AND IMAFIRINMAHLAZOR!!!
- That screen looks odd, NPC or PAL, Uh.. fine... I'm ~LonelyTurret~ And I approve this message.
- Thanks. Wait NPC? Don't you mean NTSC? If so, I think it's NTSC. RWAR! ~JOSHAFile:Gozira.PNGZILLA!!!~ AND IMAFIRINMAHLAZOR!!!
- Yes. Is it not in NTSC?--Prezintenden
That's Pikmin 2...Wait, no, ignore that, I don't see you getting confused between the games. Sounds...fun?
- My NTSC Pikmin 2 copy (I scanned the "Pink Pikmin Page, 'member?) has some minor changes in appearence including a lack of stars and the picture being placed differently... if I camera wasn't busted, I'd take a picture... but even, I'm not that stupid Green... I'm ~LonelyTurret~ And I approve this message.
Image Ripping
Hey, does anyone think they can rip these images from this link? I can't seem to do it and I think that they would look good on those pages.File:All.jpgPikminFile:Hairybulborb.jpg1254File:Specialpikmin.JPG
- Mm, yes, Distant Spring one especially gives you a nice idea of what the level looks like, since we're lacking a good shot now. I don't think the shot gets any bigger as it is. I'll upload the DS one for now.--Prezintenden
Thanks. I think all the images will make the pages look better.File:All.jpgPikminFile:Hairybulborb.jpg1254File:Specialpikmin.JPG
- ...I just read a little of the page. "Monster-producing flames [...] provide some light".
- Anyway, pic was added. I was hoping GP can get some higher quality image with his fancy editing add-ons, but I think that's as good as it gets. I'm not a fan of the Forest Navel pic, but since the area has so much landscape variety, I don't think it's possible to acccuratly display it on a singe screenshot. Harumph.--Prezintenden
- I had no idea we were lacking general area images for Pikmin 1. I would've got some a week ago when I had Wii access; as it is, it's 9 more weeks now 'till I can again. And as for getting better images from that, not likely: Flash is disgusting. I doubt they'd upload higher-quality images than displayed, anyway.GP
Infobox
We should have an infobox for area pages. Vol (Talk)
- Infoboxes are not really for lists of things, but for information that can be represented in a small amount of space and without many words; I think it just wouldn't fit without making the infobox quite large. I do not really know where this should go, but I was thinking maybe we could have something like this for the maps in Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2. Scroll to the bottom to see what I mean. When you click on the corresponding area, you will be taken to that area. You need to see the actual nav map in action to get what I am trying to say. --Gamefreak75
- Hmm... That's actually a neat idea. I'll look into it. {EspyoT} 13:50, 17 October 2010 (EDT)
It's using the image map extension, which we do have. I would do it, if someone would provide the pictures.Good job Espyo, didn't know you'd already done it. Vol (Talk)- Wow guys! I'm glad people are seeing things they like on WiKirby. Anyway, I never wrote up a tutorial on it, but if this goes through, I plan to write up a full guide on how to do it-and publish it as a NIWA article. If there's anything else over there you want to implement here, just ask and I'll explain it as best as I can.Axiomist 17:20, 18 October 2010 (EDT)
- A good idea is a good idea, that's why we implemented it. This wiki is still growing, and we plan on adding some more interesting gimmicks. Of course, if Pikmin 3 comes out in the meantime, those fancy gimmicks will be on hold for months. Also, an account is needed to access that page. I don't have one and I don't feel like creating one now. What is it about? Finally, if you plan on making a tutorial on how to create an imagemap, I'd hate to burst your bubble, but it's not needed. It's easy to create one. Feel free to make it, though. {EspyoT} 18:26, 18 October 2010 (EDT)

- Yeah, I agree: why a tutorial when there's documentation here? That's all you need. Espyo: the reason you can't view it is because you don't have a staff account - normal topics can be viewed anonymously. The topic is a proposal for 'An article space as the NIWA Main Page, much like a traditional website.' GP
Test maps?
Ok, so there I was, investigating Pikmin's ISO properties using Dolphin. Then, I found the "courses" folder. The following "courses" are there:
- laststage
- garden.mod
- practice
- practice.mod
- route
- route.mod
- stage1
- forest.mod
- stage2
- cave.mod
- stage3
- yakusima.mod
- test
- animtest.mod
- codetest.mod
- E3play_3.mod
- map_06.mod
- play_3.mod
- play_4.mod
- shapetest.mod
- testmap.mod
- tuto1.mod
- tuto2.mod
I can't tell which levels practice, route and stage3 are, but stage1 and stage2 are The Forest of Hope and The Forest Navel, respectively. Other than that, we have 10 unidentified maps. If we can open mod
files, or better yet, somehow swap one of the "test" levels with an existing ones, we can uncover beta levels! {EspyoT} 11:20, 24 November 2010 (EST)
- I'd say it's fairly obvious practice is Impact Site, laststage is Final Trial, and stage1, 2, 3 are the other areas (making 3 Distant Spring). Not sure about route, though. The Pikmin 2 area models were .bmd files, so something different, I guess, which was why we could open the test level in there. GP
- Perplexing Pool is called "yakushima" in Pikmin 2's data, so stage3 is definitely Distant Spring. (...though it was obvious already) Miles 16:11, 24 November 2010 (EST)
