The Cloaking Burrow-nit is a slightly strange looking creature that lives in the ground. You may see its dark blue shell with large, red eye markings sticking out of the ground. If you approach it, it emerges and chases down your Pikmin. It has an extendable needle-like nose which it uses much like a chameleon would use its tongue, launching it at individual Pikmin and reeling them in to eat. The best way to beat it is to throw Purple Pikmin in front of its tender face, or swarm it. Burrow-nits, primarily the one in Wistful Wild, will deconstruct nearby bridges, similar to Sheargrubs. It's possible that they pile the sticks to lay eggs in.

You won't see this creature too often, but it is not that dangerous a creature, as it only can eat one Pikmin at a time.

The in-game Piklopedia states that there are other Burrow-nits, even though this is the only type in the game known.

Olimar's Notes

The snake pattern in this beast's shell is one of the most distinctive features of the Burrow-Nit family. The red pattern of the Cloaking Burrow-Nit and the spikes around it mantle make it easily identifiable while still making it a representable specimen of the Burrow-Nit family. The shell on the Cloaking Burrow-Nit's back also provides a frame that fixes its muscular structure in place, and appears to give the creature its powerful needle-launching attack.

Louie's Notes

Boil in the shell with a pinch of salt until bright red, and serving piping hot with tartar sauce.

How to Kill

Pikmin

Swarm it. It may attack a Pikmin, but chances are it'll be dead before it gets to eat it.

Captains

Attack it from the back, and run when it bucks. If you attack from the furthest possible distance, the buck won't affect you, and it'll be even easier.
